I just posted a message in Spanish on David's site, who initially posted the news, to ask if it was an official announcement or not. Stephany David answered me that Hayley's participation hasn't been officially announced but the news comes from a very serious source. He added that most of Mike's fans are not aware of Hayley but so far, their reaction to her voice (through her Myspace, and official site) have been VERY positive. Everyone is looking forward to hearing their association.

Hello Stephany and everybody! I'm wondering if Hayley has a major involvement in Mike Oldfield's album, or will she be on just one track? Either way, I will definitely buy this album! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifIn the past, Mike Oldfield has worked with Scottish singer Maggie Reilly, who sang his 1983 hit 'Moonlight Shadow', and her voice was of similar pitch and power to Hayley's. Best Wishes, Richard

Thank you, Roger! I just posted a message in Spanish on David's site, who initially posted the news, to ask if it was an official announcement or not. That said, if it turns out to be true, I will be really amazed by how varied Hayley's work has been in the last few months. She never stops to surprise me! Stephany If so, this is superb. Diversity is the key for Hayley not just because she is interested in trying different things but because it gives her totally different 'fixed' audiences--audiences orientated into a specific genre which could be led sideways to Hayley and then latch on to her. Breadth is key, especially when her 'area' is already well filled, highly competitive (not that she can't hold her own) but also specialised, such as Celtic, folk when she is in competition with the likes of: Jenkins, Brightman, Church (historically) and new ones coming in. Variations of the same song overload the general public, even though Hayley's interpretations usually have that little extra something that lifts them from the 'standard' presentation or are simply better than other artists' interpretations. In the short interview after her performance, Hayley did mention she "...... had a few projects in the pipeline", although she only mentioned West Side Story by name. Maybe this is one of the others. Best wishes Grant ...and at that time more information was embargoed. We need to remember when Hayley hedges the future with us she is bound by two contractual restraints which are serious professional burdens placed upon her. - Her own contractual obligations in her Decca contract regarding organised promotional plans. Shops etc trust Decca and their artists as they are themselves embargoed so as everyone has a fair crack of the whip on release day.
- When working with other artists they are in control of such release dates (or their own management/promoters) and likewise nothing must come out in a disorganised way.
- The whole is a matter not just of professionalism but of trust and confidence.

Hi Peter I am sure you are absolutely right. I bet sometimes Hayley is bursting to tell whats going on, particularly to us at HWI because we are obviously so very interested. However, for the reasons you give, she can only hint Best regards Mark

Hi All, Mike Oldfield was interviewed by ITV this morning. He was asked about "Music of the Spheres", his new album coming out at the end of the year. He said he was recording it last night at Abbey Road Studios with a big orchestra. No mention of Hayley. Best wishes, Stephany

Hi Stephany
Thanks for that info. I suppose he may not have thought to mention Hayley but, its a shame that he didn't confirm her involvement on air.

I've always thought Mike's music was genius, but I never knew about the man. I've just found out he released a book about the 10 years he faced depression and panic attacks and I can identify with him.
Its not easily especially with the stigma you get. Donations are going to sane for each book, which I think is great.

'Tubular Bells' was the song I was thinking of from the 'Exorcist'. It was born out of his troubles at the time. Here is a feature from icSouthLondon It may be that Mike wants to use Hayley's voice as an instrument, but I'm guessing. Edit: I fixed the link using noubbc tags. Richard

You might find some clues on there. But Goggle translations aren't particularly accurate and can be pretty hilarious: "If this outside jurisdictional one, more than one would be already here dribbling like a possessed person…." I couldn't of said it better myself. Seriously it is good to see Hayley getting some new fans.

- I assume 'his' actually means 'her' Hi Jon, I think Spanish uses the same word 'su' to mean 'his' or 'her', so the machine translation doesn't know if it should translate it as 'his' or 'her'. Raymond

Hi Raymond, Su means 'Your' in Spanish, so its the same thing really isn't it. I think Goggle uses Babel Fish for the translation and it isn't very reliable. It was obviously programmed by a man seeing as they went for 'his'! Typical! Still from the speculation on there, could Hayley be singing in Latin on the album?

[/b][/quote] Thats answered one question: Nobody's better than Hayley - If they are, they turn into fabric! :2fun: Sounds like something Yoda would say! :rollin Still I agree with new jurisdictional one, will lack until who the handsome time. OK I've had my fun, patience patience.
