Hi Graham, As far as I know , this song I'm Kissing you,(Hayley's version) was not used for a soundtrack album for Romeo and Juliet. The original version is on the Soudtrack album Romeo and Juliet(1996) and was performed by Des'ree. So the song is from Romeo and Juliet, not Hayley's version of it. BTW...because Prayer is a japanese album, i think it is strange that the song Wiegenlied, is not mentioned as Titlesong from the japanese movie Lorelei. Greetz JOYCE. Weigenlied is the only song on that album that can be considered remotely "classical". Martin

It did not therefore need to meet the stricter UK rules of what is a Classical album. It therefore took a variety of 'one offs' mainly for films and TV and put them on 1 CD. i.e film scores and TV do not tend to be classical but are' made for purpose'. e. g. Flood. Graham

Hi Graham,
Yes I agree. I had not meant to imply that Prayer was ever meant to be a classical music album, any more than Hayley's forthcoming album of Japanese pop songs is. It is just an interesting illustration of the different ways that Hayley is marketed in different countries.
In the UK she is a classical singer (some call her an"opera singer") In the US and Ireland she is a folk singer. In Japan she is a pop singer.
We have also heard her perform Musical theatre Country and Western Film Music (as you mention) Gospel Music Rock Music
Has any artist ever embraced such a wide variety of musical styles in the history of music. And amazingly, performed all of them so brilliantly?

Hi Belinda, I am pleased for you , It is a great collection of Hayley's work, great for showcasing her talent over a long period of time, with some of the most difficult to source songs on it.

I got my copy of PRAYER from Japan today, and it is INCREDIBLE! Very interesting collection of songs and they flow together nicely. I have to say that I think I might like this better than TREASURE!

Hi pghmusiclover Prayer is certainly an amazing album and probably the one that I would recommend as a 'first' Hayley album as it showcases her incredible voice across such a wide and diverse range better than any of the others. Anyway, I'm very happy that you are enjoying your copy. Best wishes Grant

Yes, I felt much the same way when I first got my copy. It is a great collection of songs, although I already had half of them on other albums. Nowadays though, I have reverted back to Treasure as my favourite Hayley album, I think mainly because it is closer to the way that Hayley sounds now, and has nuch more of Hayley in it. Meaning that it has some of her own compositions, and Hayley herself had control over the content. Martin

Hello everyone My Taiwanese "Prayer" CD arrived yesterday whilst I was out and I am very pleased with it. The album itself is almost identical to the original Japanese release with the only differences being a 'standard' catalogue number - 478-008-5 (as opposed to the Japanese UCCL-1120) and the usual "not to be distrbuted in Japan" on the CD itself and in the text on the back. The slip case is finished in an attractive pastel shade with Taiwanese graphics front and rear. There is also a fold out sheet with English and Taiwanese lyrics The slip case and CD The rear of the slip case and fold out sheet Although, very similar to the original, this is a lovely addition to any collection and is, incidentally, my 98th Hayley CD! Best wishes Grant

Call me slow on the uptake, but this CD only arrived for me this morning! I kept seeing it on amazon, but the price tag jumped out at me more clearly. Eventually, I was reckless and ordered it. It has so many different tracks on it. I haven't listened to it yet, have only just started, but her vocals on Last Rose of Summer took my breath away. I think I am quite happy that I took the dive, here!

Hi Nicola,
Well, when I bought it it wasn't that expensive, perhaps a year ag. But exchange rates have changes since then, and I got the Japanese editions direct from CDJapan. I agree, it is a wonderful collection of song though - I particularly like "Listen to the Wind" but there are many others.
Do you know who the other singer is on "Last Rose"? I ask because on my version of this album, she isn't credited, which I feel is unfair, it is Meav from Celtic Woman ( and that tack was taken from the Celtic Woman album "A New Journey".
