Thank you Anna. I've never heard this version before also. I think it is a new recording. I have just watched the commerical too. The background is the video of 'Pokarekare ana'. The cover of the album is also showed in it. Raymond

The cover of the album is also showed in it. Raymond Hi Raymond, Anna and All. I don't think I am quite up with you yet Raymond, as I am still exploring but I had to cut in with a reply as I was wading through--its has Wiegenleid on it. I have loved this from the beginning as I think she makes German sound so pleasantly soft. As the site is in Japanese I am lost as to what exactly is happening. What have you led me into, Anna? 1. After Real Audio cuts in for the first clip, the next clip gives me WMV 11 update/upgrade, which opportunity I took. I love its interface--on first impressions. 2. What exactly has happened? Is it the recording, the original values of which we are at last hearing for the first time because of the WMV 11 version upgrade? I have only heard the subsequent options (and I have not yet waded through all of them) over a pair of one inch speakers embedded in the chassis of my laptop and I am blown away with the quality.I must come back to this site when I rig up my wireless connection so I can hear over my headphones but the purity of sound is awesome. 3. Are these re-recordings? Or re-processed recordings? The latter would bother me only because Hayley is so naturally pure I don't like the idea of her reputation for purity being 'tarnished' by electronic manipulation. 4. What is interesting is that on the Weigenleid it informs me that it is the 'slow' version. This is correct and I prefer the faster one which is on the original 'Odyssey' version but it seems a clearer, purer rendition than that recording--but I need to compare and haven't the time at the moment. In any case any comparison would probably be better (if he has the time) coming from Dave's electronic means as we are talking of subjective hearing otherwise and need to make allowance for our respective equipment, not least of which is our own ears and musical preferences! 5. I don't like the idea of The Best Of' anything as I like to hear things in their originally intended context. However, I DO DO DO want this 'Best of Hayley'. Peter S.

Hi 'singastory/Monkey'. Welcome. From where do you hail? I hope you find here the group of Haley stalwarts you were looking for and feel at home here pretty quickly.

I think Amazon.com must be having trouble getting this album. I've just had an Email from them stating that delivery of my order could be delayed by 4-6 weeks. Could be mid March now!! Grant

Hi Grant and everyone, I'm sure you won't have to wait long for delivery... this album was definitely released last week - it has entered the Japan main album chart at no. 85! Cheers, Dave

My copy of this album dropped through my door this morning whilst I was out. Interestingly, it has a cardboard sleeve enclosing the jewel case and contains two booklets The first, which includes the album cover picture, is a fold out booklet containing a selection of pictures from Hayley's major photo shoots, whilst the second (with a monochrome cover photo) is mostly in Japanese but has the lyrics in English. I'll post some pictures eventually, but I'm rather busy at the moment, so it may be next week Best wishes Grant

One possibility Singastory is that you heard a clip of a live performance she did with Andrea Bocelli on a Brian Boitano skating special.

As promised, here are some pictures of the album. The first is the complete package in its cardboard sleeve as it dropped through the letter box with all the Japanese text. The next is the cover photo of the album itself The rear cover of the fold out sleeve with the track listing. This booklet contains small pictures from the various photo shoots. I've not copied these as all the pictures are available on the main site. I really love the monochrome version of this photograph. This is on the cover of the Japanese booklet containing the lyrics which are in English as well. Finally, the CD itself, which is a rather pretty pink! One last thing. I got quite a surprise listening to "Time To Say Goodbye" (which I love by the way) - I hadn't expected it to be in Italian!! Grant

When you say you hadn't expected the song "Time to say goodbye" to be in Italian; do you mean it's entirely in this language or is there a mix of Italian and English (similar to the version Hayley sang at the Olympic Games with Boccelli available here on Youtube) ?!

Thanks for the quick reply, Grant. I'll probably have to write a "Hayley must-buy list" very soon as there are so many missing songs I would love to get.

Hi all, Today I received my copy of "The Best of Hayley Westenra" from Japan. My question is: Is "Time to say goodbye" the same version as at "Walking in the Air"-CD ? I think Hayley's voice is a littele bit different like today. Many greetings, Lothar
