Here is a web translation from the text of Capitolmusic.de:
His own composition "There's A Sparkle In Your Eyes" sings Helmut Lotti together with Hayley Westenra
I await a proper translation from Thomas.
I am not able to provide a full link to the Capitol site as it is in German.
Perhaps if this is genuine then the "Lotti" thread should be promoted (ie not others).

Perhaps if this is genuine then the "Lotti" thread should be promoted (ie not others). Hi Drew, If you are suggesting we create a sub-board for Helmut, that is not something we would normally do merely because Hayley is singing one duet on his CD. We have agreed a maximum of 20 sub-boards for other artists (which are already taken) so it would mean the closure of one of the existing ones. We would only consider that if there was sustained interest in Helmut (in his own right as a performer) from a fairly significant number of our members. That may prove the case in time but it is too early to tell at this stage. Roger

Hello Drew and Roger! It would appear that Helmut's new double CD is called 'The Crooners', with one disc sub-titled 'My Way' and the other 'The American Way'. When we know a bit more, I might suggest moving this thread to the 'Other Albums' sub-board, unless there is great interest in Helmut in his own right. Let's see what happens in the next few days. Best Wishes, Richard

Hi Drew and everyone else! As promised here is the translation from the website www.capitolmusic.de/552681/biografie.htmlThe German text contains many phrases of which I couldn't find an English translation but I often used the online dictionary www.dict.ccSo I hope it still makes sence. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifThe Crooners! As crooners especially male singers are characterized which distinguish themselves with a special gentle almost intimate rendition of mostly romantic songs. The term came up in the 1920s together with the invention of the microphone and with the possibility to amplify music electronically so that the singers didn‘t need to be louder than the orchestra. One of the first big stars of this crooning, or beautiful singing, which experienced its first big time of prosperity in the 1940s in the USA, was Bing Crosby followed by artists like Perry Como and Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin. Singers like Gene Pitney and Paul Anka, but also Elvis Presley and Sam Cooke were excellent crooners; Harry Connick Jr. and Michael Bublé rank among the famous present crooners. With a voice more than golden, his career anyway is more than plentiful paved with noble metal. For more than ten years the golden throat of Helmut Lotti infatuates an international audience which is fascinated and delighted again by every new musical adventure of the Belgian superstar. The star of Helmut Lotti rose in the early 1990s with his legendary classic-series. In the sequel he used his enormous vocal possibilities as an artistic world traveller who confered an honour with great albums like „Out Of Africa“ (1999), „Latino Classics“ (2000), „Latino Love Songs“ (2001), „My Tribute To The King” (2002), „Pop Classics In Symphony“ (2003) and finally „From Russia With Love“ (2004) on whole continents, epochs and his always admired idol Elvis Presley. With „The Crooners“ Helmut Lotti devotes himself with heart and soul to the artistic genre which he controls so masterly like almost no other contemporary performer: the romantic singing. Helmut Lotti at his best: the born crooner. The speciality about the double album „The Crooners“, which format already discribes a magnum opus, is that Helmut Lotti isn‘t only a brilliant singer but also outstands as a sensitive composer and songwriter. With the title „My Way“ Helmut Lotti has written twelve romantic crooner songs which as well could come from the heyday of the crooners. From the first unsettled advances („I Don’t Know How To Love You“) until the wistful memory („How Could I Ever Forget You“) this thoroughbred romanticist uses everything which belongs to a besotted romance. Indulging songs all of them immersed in sounds of velvet by the Golden Symphonic Orchestra. To fall in love with. The artistic equivalent to the twelve of Lotti‘s own composings is the cycle „The American Way“ with also includes a dozen songs. On the second album Lotti performs world-famous classics of the big crooner-era: „Caterina“ from Perry Como, „Just A Gigolo“ from Bing Crosby, „Mona Lisa“ from Nat King Cole, „That’s Amore“ from Dean Martin. Every song an absolut giant. Both „My Way“ and „The American Way“ contain a duett: His own composing „There’s A Sparkle In Your Eyes“ Lotti sings with Hayley Westenra, „True Love“ (which became famous with Bing Crosby and Grace Kelly) he performs with Isabelle Adam. With „The Crooners“ Lotti doensn‘t just only raise a monument for an art-genre, he also adds a masterpiece to his own discography of ageless romanticism. His upcoming German tour in winter shouldn‘t become a less romantic crusade that will inflame heards and lighters. I hope you're not too confused about this translation. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifThomas

Now that the album is released we have some words: www.helmutlotti.be/Index_cr/index_engl.htmTHERE´S A SPARKLE IN YOUR EYES
There’s a full moon and it’s rising in front of you And it’s shining on your lovely face And it lights up your smile like you light up my life I know this is the time and the place There’s a sparkle in your eyes I can see And I wonder if it’s there only for me Oh! I feel my heart keeps on yearning May the flame of love keep on burning There’s a sparkle in your eyes I can see Everything about you longs to set it free As I look into your eyes I have come to realize That the sparkle’s only there for me
Instrumental
Oh I feel my heart keeps on yearning May the flame of love keep on burning There’s a sparkle in your eyes I can see Everything about you longs to set it free As I look into your eyes I have come to realize That the sparkle’s only there for me Music & Lyrics: Helmut Lotti Published by: Piet Roelen Publishing Then if you click on Prelisteningor www.osmosysoft.com/images/Sparkle.mp3Who do you think it sounds like? Dave, I think this might need moving.

Hello Drew and everybody! Wow!!! I've just listened to the clip, and it sounds as though Hayley has found yet another style of music that suits her, and a subtle new variation in her voice to go with it. I really want to hear the whole song now, because I like it! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifBest Wishes, Richard

Hayley's voice on this track reminds me of '40s singers like Vera Lynn. Only even better.

I programmed my VHS recorder today for that show but it didn't record anything due to a programme change. Instead of the show with Helmut Lotti there was a special broadcasting about the Good-bye of Michael Schumacher. Until now I couldn't find out if and when the show with Lotti will be shown on another day. Thomas

Thanks a lot for the attempt anyhow Thomas!! Schade. Graemek Incidentally both my wife & I love the 'Sparkle' duet. It gets played at least once a day at our place & we have a 'car copy' available too. It's just too beautiful. It would be lovely to get a copy of that TV coverage. Anybody else have any ideas? Lothar maybe?? I don't know how TV stations interact in Europe. I kind of thought that UK & Continent TV stations were able to just receive & thus copy any programme they wanted no problem. My mother in law in Hamburg can receive 75 channels she told me once. Graeme
