Yes, I am using Linux, but I will enable Java as soon as I post this. Thanks for the help! If it still happens, you'll know.

guess what happened when I tried to open HWI? I got this message:
Too Many Connections There are currently too many connections to this server. Please check back again in 30 seconds.
200 OK Connection: close Date: Sat, 22 Dec 2007 00:47:56 GMT Server: Apache/2.2.4 (Unix) PHP/5.2.1 Content-Type: text/html Client-Date: Sat, 22 Dec 2007 00:44:29 GMT Client-Peer: 67.15.247.140:80 Client-Response-Num: 1
Did anyone else get it?

Hi Northern Lights, I think your question relates to the forum and not to the main site. Yes, it happened to me a little earlier this evening, and it was reported on 5th December by Martin HERE. A brief explanation follows that post. It is beyond our control but is nothing to worry about. Roger

Hi Northern Lights,
The url of your Ultimate Pictures thread is vastly different from the one hidden behind you "tada" (which can be seen by clicking on the quote button). I can offer no explanation unless it is a temporary software glitch. Hopefully, it won't happen too often but, if anyone can offer any suggestions, please do so.
Roger

Roger The 'tada' link tells me that the thread doesn't exist. Wrong link posted, I'd say. This link to the thread does work: hwi.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=Miscellaneous&action=display&thread=1197418013Paddy

its opera/Linux/forums software all mixed in one. the easy fix should be dont use opera. proboards isn't tested on a Linux system with opera browser at least not to the extreme like i.e. and firefox.
but what it is doing its loading the parts of the php/html into the address bar so the browser is not reading it right all the time. i dont know anything about Opera besides the name, and im very limited on my Linux systems. but there is multi fixes, but the easy fix......use firefox
+ i dont know why java would be a problem, how did the subject of java get started anyways? my first 5-10 visits to every site, i have all the scripts + java + ads turned off. and mater in fact i still have java turned off for this site

No, just hit reload, it should work!
I'm sorry, but I find Opera a better browser than Firefox, my old browser. I use Firefox on rare occasions, but Opera usually works just fine. However, you can not enable Java, even by clicking the enable Java button.

I figured out why(ok when) it happens! It happens whenever I click on the area around the thread title or page numbers! So that helps me!

Hello everyone
I've been encountering a different problem today related to using the quote button on a post. For some reason, the system won't let me quote to a post if I am using one of the search functions.
I get 2 forum banners, 2 'number of messages' an "An error has occurred" message with the following in a box below:
THREAD NOT DEFINED - THREADINFO - (MEDIA - 768 - 70300)
The part in brackets varies. This happens on most occassions so that I have to click on the thread title and then reply.
Nothing major, just annoying!
Any ideas anyone?
Best wishes Grant

Hi Grant and Graham, I rarely use any search method so I was unaware of the problem until you reported it. I then tried it and had the same result... except I could see three banners. I scoured the Proboard support forum and apparently many forums are currently affected including their own! I have added ours to the list but there has been no response as yet. If they don't know about it yet, they soon will. With any luck, it should be resolved soon... only don't *quote* me! Roger
