Hi Richard
Thank you very much for informing us about this video! It's good to see that ClassicFM is promoting Will's CD so close to the UK release date. Will Martin will be promoting his album on the Alan Titchmarsh Show (ITV1) on September 19, 2008. I wish I could see it...
Love xxx Stephany

I have just seen an advertisement for the album on the digital satellite channel, UK TV Gold. The ad starts with a brief "www.classicsandjazz.co.uk" screen lasting precisely one second (I had to pause the channel to read it!) then a 30 second advert with 3 or 4 brief excerpts, it will certianly catch a lot of people's eyes and ears. Unfortunately, it also says "out now" but it isn't... it's released next Monday. The ad ends with its own built-in ad for Amazon.co.uk where the album "can be ordered", which is true but it's a preorder, of course. NZ wasn't even mentioned. Cheers, Dave

Hi Dave That would be lovely-thank you so much in advance! I hope that Will gets the recognition he deserves for his album. He's doing something very unusual to promote his album: he decided to do it the old fashioned way, following the example of minstrels from the middle ages. He will be travelling across the UK and in exchange for supper and a bed for the night he will entertain the household. To apply for Will to come and play at your house, click here. Stephany

Wot, no breakfast? Huh, it would serve them right if he sang their favourite song and missed out the last chorus! Being serious for a moment (but I don't suppose that will last for long!), I don't really see how this plan will help to promote the album. Surely, anyone who applies will be existing fans who already know about it and will buy it anyway? Maybe he is hoping for some press coverage while he is being a minstrel. Roger PS. Steph, how long will it take him to drive to Paris?

Hello Roger! Just because Will Martin wants to be a Wand'ring Minstrel, there's no need to take the Mikado out of Stephany! This isn't Will, but he really should sing this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=rOVOJ0_QfZw Richard

Well, we've got a spare bed now that No 2 son has moved out! But I'm not sure where Will would sleep!

There are for sure more effective ways to promote the album but I like the idea. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif Anyway it'll be a lot of fun. Thomas

On Classicx website I found this article : Classicalx chat with Will Martin
We all know Will Martin has crammed a lot into just a few short years.
Playing piano in bars, waiting tables, corporate entertaining, lead vocals in rock bands and even singing the New Zealand National Anthem in front of a sold out All Blacks crowd to name just a few.
With the release of his first UK album, 'New World' just around the corner, we wanted to know more. So in the hope of uncovering what makes the 23 year old singing sensation from New Zealand tick, we asked him to answer a few quickfire and fun questions...
A phrase/word I use too often … … “I’ve been thinking” … (my manager cringes when I say those words)
In another life I'd have been … … A chef. I love the dynamic of a busy restaurant. Maybe in another life, I might have had my own … ?
I'm very good at … … Navigating, supermarket shopping, being independent, and remembering ‘the little things’.
I'm not so good at … … Going to bed early, getting up early, putting up with bad service, or ‘letting go’.
The first thing I pack when travelling is … … My alarm clock. It’s vital for any early starts, and, it has its own little groove at the bottom of my case.
My favourite childhood memory is … … Fishing with my Dad. I used to catch heaps. Although, I’ve since worked out that my old man used to get them on the hook, then hand me the rod with them already on the line !
On my iPod I have … … All sorts. Everything from Sibelius to Sting. Music for work, to chill out to, and to keep me going when I’m running.
My version of TV heaven and TV hell … … TV Heaven is Gordon Ramsay, ‘Stewie Griffin’, and The All Blacks. TV Hell is soap operas, chick flicks, and The All Blacks … when they lose !
The best piece of advice I've ever been given is … … “Your gut instinct is there for a reason. Don’t Ignore It” !
Describe yourself in three words … … Entertaining, Passionate, Pedantic
Will's album ‘A New World’ has already achieved triple platinum status in his homeland New Zealand. And is released in the UK on 22 September through Universal Classics and Jazz. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I found this an interesting article... Dave - wow, thanks a lot for informing me about BBC Breakfast. I'm afraid I won't be able to watch it though! Sing, thank you very much for the article. It's not surprising to see that Will Martin is a big All Blacks fan! I'm sure he will be there to support his team against England in November. Hayley will sing the National anthem so they better win! Good luck to England

Hi Dave That would be lovely-thank you so much in advance! I hope that Will gets the recognition he deserves for his album. Hi Stephany, I have this recorded now on my Sky+ recorder but I've had a busy day and won't be able to produce the video until late on Saturday. First, I have to figure out how to get it into my computer, I moved my TV and now, my video cables are too short However, I'll figure something out but let me know if you acquire a good quality version of this from elsewhere (I can do better than YouTube though ) Cheers, Dave

I have just heard from Amazon UK that the CD has been shipped. Assuming they can navigate the ship up the River Arun, it should arrive on Monday. YAY!!
