i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif The UNO magazine (Waikato and Bay of Plenty lifesyle mag) features a really good article about Elizabeth with a lot of stunning photos including one on the front cover. One of the things Elizabeth mentions is that Hayley is one of her friends and mentor. She hopes to soon release her second album Home. I found the mag in my local Borders store in Christchurch.

i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif Elizabeth is releasing her new album Home by EMI in NZ on 21st February. This album includes members of the NZSO orchestra. Also in April she will be touring with the NZSO in April but only in the North Island .

Hi everyone!

I just thought I'd check in now that my record is finally out in NZ! Also, I'm so sorry I'm not going to be able to tour the South Island with the NZSO. I'm hoping I'll make it down south soon.

Those of you who have 'Home' already, I hope you like it! It's been a long time in the making, so I'm totally thrilled that it's finally in stores. Totally terrifying having my song as the lead track, so I'm hoping that my little 'Home' (the song) is holding up against all of those incredible songwriters on the record!

Sending my love and prayers to all those either in or with family and friends in Christchurch. I can't believe it. I hope that everyone is doing ok.

Anyway, great to see you're all going strong at HWI! Take care guys!

Just seen on facebook that Elizabeth will be performing the anthem at the semi-final in the rugby world cup looking forward to that as well as Hayley and Will Martin

I just found a video of Elizabeth singing God Defend New Zealand at the Rugby World Cup semi final. Great performance.

I bought both of Elizabeth's albums a while back. Her self titled first album was really good, but her new album 'Home' is fantastic.

On 'Home', I really like her cover of Crowded House's 'Don't Dream It's Over'. 'Over The Rainbow / I'm Always Chasing Rainbows', and 'Amazing Grace' (with Maori lyrics) are really good too, but my favourite is the cover of Dave Dobbyn's 'Welcome Home'.

Can't wait for the next album, Elizabeth.

Heartland Tour Wellington Concert 30th July 2012

I flew up to Wellington to see Elizabeth in concert as she wasn't coming to Christchurch.

The venue was the Illot Theatre in the Wellington Town Hall and can seat 300. It was almost full on Monday night. I had a front row seat in the middle i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif. The band consisted of Carl Doy, a well known pianist in NZ (he also helped Hayley get started), and a drummer, double bass and guitarist who also played for Hayley in her Paradiso tour.

Elizabeth looked stunning tonight in her many different outfits and her voice was just as great.

She started with a Something's Coming / Tonight medley.
Over The Rainbow / I'm always Chasing Rainbows was well done.
Close To You / Say a Little Prayer / The Look of Love / What the World Needs medley
Now / Anyone who had a Heart

Then her special guest came on stage. He is a young violinist who had played with Hayley ( and went to the same school) called Ben Morrison. He has also played with Yulia. Ben is currently studying in Austria.
He played Czardas , Apres Un Reve both beautifully done.

Then Elizabeth and Ben did Summertime which was well done.

Then an ABBA medley of Money, Money, Money / Mamma Mia followed by a stirring rendition of Whakaaria Mai or as most of us know as How Great Thou Art. This was a very emotional song for Elizabeth as her late uncle Sir Howard Morrison was famous in NZ for singing this song.
Then a very good performance of Hallelujah and the first half finished with E Papa with Elizabeth also doing the Maori hand movements.


I had a lovely glass of wine and an icecream during the interval (yummy).

Carl Doy and the band opened the second half with Entr'acte and it showed how classy Carl is. Apparently one of Carl's albums is on Oprah's best liked album lists.

Elizabeth then came on and sang a medley of Whitney Houston songs I will Always Love you / One Moment in Time / I have Nothing
Then a Dave Dobbyn song Welcome Home
Then Ben came back and we had a first class violin performance of HotCanary ( as Ben said if it was any hotter it would have to be called Roast Canary lol) then Meditation from Thais (absolutely stunning) and and opera aria La Ronde des Lutins.

Then Elizabeth and Ben did The Prayer
Then Elizabeth sang two new songs she has written and should be on her next album Again and Lucky Escape both good tunes.

The Home from her last album and lastly her signature song Tarakihi (love it).

For her encore Elizabeth went to the piano and she did Both Sides Now (well known to us lol) and Elizabeth did a great version.

After the concert Elizabeth and Ben signed my programme.
Then the next day I had to fly back to Christchurch pleased that i had come to this concert.
