Incidentally, Paul Simon is one of Josh Groban's favorite early influences!

Hello Libby! I see Josh Groban has knocked Paul Simon off the top spot, so quality music rules at the moment! Richard Err.. what's wrong with Paul Simon? No I haven't heard either album, so don't know what I am talking about. But Hayley seems to like him as she sings BOTW. Martin D

No I haven't heard either album, so don't know what I am talking about. But Hayley seems to like him as she sings BOTW. Martin D I was wondering the same thing myself, but, like you, I know next to nothing from him. Just Bridge OTW and Scarborough Fair, but that is not originally by them (though most people would be familiar with it because of them). But I do find it interesting that Josh is just ahead of one of his personal favorites growing up. He is probably aware of it, and is very proud yet humbled at this accomplishment.

Here's his recent, powerful, emotional performance of Anthem on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon: www.nbc.com/the-tonight-show/segments/125431And I thought Jai McDowall's version was good! I'd never heard it before Jai sang it, but I loved it the first time I heard it, which is why I was impressed with him. No longer, it's only Josh for me. LOL

I see Josh Groban has knocked Paul Simon off the top spot, so quality music rules at the moment! My comment seems to have been misunderstood, because I like Paul Simon too. His 'Ultimate Collection' went straight to No.1 the week before Josh Groban's 'Stages', so two quality artists have topped the UK Albums Chart in consecutive weeks. Chart for 19 April 2015: www.officialcharts.com/charts/albums-chart/20150419/7502I'll change the link in my previous post when this week's chart is archived. Richard

Richard, that's what I thought you meant initially, but then I started to wonder, since Josh is "ruling" at the top. It's also at the top of the pop chart on Amazon.com! www.amazon.com/gp/bestsellers/music/37/ref=pd_zg_hrsr_m_1_2Comet, Josh is either going to be interviewed in Kentucky (he's singing the national anthem at the derby tomorrow), or it was recorded when hew was still overseas. I guess you'll find out. I'll try to post a video of his performance here. Right now I'm still crazy about his version of Anthem, both on the CD and the Tonight show video. I'm putting that song tied in 1st place with Bring Him Home, then tied for 2nd... ooh, let's see... Never mind, I'll just list my favorites: Anthem Bring Him Home What I Did For Love All I Ask of You You'll Never Walk Alone Empty Chairs at Empty Tables (though I still prefer Mario's for the most part; the beginning music isn't my favorite, and he sings one part a bit differently than Mario.) Before you say it, I love the songs sung by Josh, Hayley, Mario, and Alfie, but I can't stand musicals, where they sing every single line, especially when they are not on par with Josh, Hayley, etc. So, please don't bother trying to convince me anymore. It's never going to work. LOL If there were voice overs with these singers, then maybe I would, but that's never going to happen. LOL Any comments despite my warning will be ignored.

It's a shame 'Stages' has gone down to number 4 this week but it's still a great position (pity Taylor Swift has to be no2 IMO). I think I may have encouraged two of my friends to finally give him a listen as they love the songs Pure Imagination and Le Temps Des Cathedrals www.officialcharts.com/charts/albums-chart/And my copy still hasn't arrived - I knew I should have bought it when I saw it in HMV LOL, but I still would like to get the Target edition, hopefully I will be able to on eBay but will probably be too expensive for me at least for now

I finally got around to searching for Josh Groban's excellent performance of the US national anthem at the Kentucky Derby on Saturday. I missed it. I'm not sure if they played it on the main airing on NBC, but I see that they at least showed it on NBC sports, though not everybody gets that channel. Don't worry, they show the performance, not that picture the whole time (that's what I thought when I saw the still).
