Thanks for the scan, Andrew! I'm not too familiar with this ceremony although I bet awards are distributed to singers. Who's deciding the nominees and winners? The audience, journalists, music specialists? And finally, does anyone know if Hayley is going to attend the 2007 ceremony? i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

Hi Andrew and thanks for the scan. Stephany, it has been said that the Classical Brit Awards is one of the hightlights of the classical year. It is always held in the Royal Albert Hall in London in early May. There are about 8 different awards which are presented on the night. Most of them are decided by a panel of judges but one of them, 'Album of the Year' is determined by public vote. Unfortunately, you can only vote from within the UK (unless they change the rules this year). Hayley has appeared at the award ceremony on two occasions, and was there as a guest on a third. She was nominated for an award in 2004 for Pure but, unfortunately, lost out to Bryn Tyrfel. Unfortunately she will not be attending this year as she is appearing with Celtic Woman in California the very next night. However, we have known for some time that All Angels will be performing, hence the thread which appears HERE. Roger

Even though Hayley doesn't attend the 2007 ceremony, could it be possible for her to earn a nomination for "Treasure" or has it been released too late in the UK to be considered by the judges?

Hi Stephany, Unfortunately, Treasure would not qualify for any award this year because the 2007 awards are for albums released during 2006 (1st January to 31st December). We feel sure it will be nominated for an award in 2008 though. Roger

Further details of this year's CBA's are now available at nsandi.com. [National Savings and Investments sponsor the event.] From there, we see that the Lifetime Achievement Award goes to conductor Dr Vernon Handley CBE. This award is always announced in advance of the awards ceremony. Also appearing are cellist Natalie Clein, the Fron Male Voice Choir, and Chinese pianist Lang Lang. And, of course, we already know that All Angels will be performing. More will be announced in due course. Nominations for the CBAs will be announced on 2nd April. Roger

Hi Gerrit, I must admit I was beginning to wonder if my ticket had been thrown in the Thames so I was releived when it arrived yesterday. Allowing for our relative locations, it sounds as though they were dispached at the same time. See you there! Roger

Thanks for the list of artists up for album of the year, Gerrit.
I'd cast my vote in for All Angels if I could. AA have a good chance of winning. But, oh, the competition.
I hope that BBC America will broadcast this at some point.
Enjoy the show!
Cheers, Joe

I'd probably vote for Alfie Boe out of that list. I did notice that BBC:A is airing the Proms now, wonder if they'll get around to the one Hayley performed at.
