I hope there will be an official announcement soon because members of both CW & LK forums are starting to ask questions about the source of this information. See for example : "London" (Lisa Kelly's forum).

Hi mkc,
Normally, I would say it was my pleasure but, of course, news like this wasn't!
Welcome to the forum, by the way!

Just checked bic.co.uk and they're STILL selling tickets on-line AND claiming Hayley will be there ! Oh dear....! There are going to be a lot of unhappy punters down at the Pavilion. Wouldn't like to be in the manager's shoes once they find out !
Picking up from that it was great finding this in that link, Stephany but I can't now remember who posted it: Whaaaa No Hayley in London I'm sooooo sad now.
BTW I took the Celtic Woman Test again I'm still a Hayley. I wonder if I'm biased. Perhaps the CW fan board don't have that closeness with their management as we enjoy here with Hayley's because if Hayley was that open at Grassington that she was not part of the CW tour I am surprised it wasn't known on CW, especially since they must have known, by the postings there, that there were many who were Hayley-wowed! Hi Peter, I noticed the collages too on Lisa's forum, some are even HWI photo's and I do not recall any requests to use the pictures on other forums! There is no problem in letting people use our photographs for avatars but all those on the HWI forum who have done have always asked first! Steve H

There is no problem in letting people use our photographs for avatars but all those on the HWI forum who have done have always asked first! Steve H I think it fair point to make comment Steve. On the other hand, like you people here, I have been in that situation when people have wanted to use my work (in this case in promoting my home town for various societies (or even the Council!)). While being asked (which is what has happened) is a matter of courtesy and not being asked makes one feel a little aggrieved, these are superb statements of these CW fans being Hayley-wowed. In which case: - It is further promoting Hayley.
- They may have been unsure how to go about asking because they were visitors, not registering here.
- That point above provides interesting insight into how influential 'just' visitors can be, further indicating we have a promotional input for Hayley's benefit way beyond what the membership numbers might indicate.
- May be we can encourage more to join us (I am aware one or two already have) especially if they are Hayley-wowed and therefore not going to get their Hayley-fix on CW.
- Having some people here who also connect with the CW board, it is even more amazing more debate about the tour was not in evidence on the CW board earlier than it was. Perhaps they, then, might have been able to influence the way things were happening before they got too far into the mire.
- What would be nice is for those using the photos from HWI simply, at least, put a line acknoweldgement saying 'Courtesy of the HWI Board'.

This only half surprises me. Given that Hayley is the big draw in Europe, or at least in the UK, and that the advertising, if not outright false, appeared to be disingenuous, relying on Hayley's name when it was known she had appearances that conflicted with this tour, I can see why ticket sales would not have risen to the point where going ahead with the tour was feasible. It's never a good idea to annoy your audience or appear to be trying to trick your audience. This is exactly what I was talking about in my posts back in Feb. CW management has a history of consumer fraud and I have called them on this several times. They pulled this with the last tour in the US after most tickets were sold. I posted protests to this tpye of business practices on the forums only to have my posts deleted by the admins and mods on the CW forum. Thank God we have people here on this board with level heads like Roger who understands the valuse of free expression and the need to have an open forum to relay information and not sensor it. This information would never be allowed to be posted on the CW forum which is why this information isnt on there and those that dont read this forum are clueless.

Yes, thank God for that, intelligent, unbiased moderators are worth their weight in gold. And Tony, as a veteran concertgoer, you must know that this kind of nonsense doesn't stop with CW management. That's why, for example, I won't go to any event produced by Princeton Entertainment, they are simply untrustworthy.
I just don't get it, though, having met the girls and chatted with most of them more than simple greetings, they none of them seem like people who would knowingly participate in underhanded dealings, and I think everyone here will back me when I say Hayley would NEVER knowingly do anything underhanded or sneaky. On the other hand, though, they are clearly not stupid, Meav's got a law degree, for heaven's sake. Have they taken the attitude that management should get things done and not tell them how they did it? Hmmmm.
I do question that, particularly from Meav's standpoint. She's an officer of the Court, the same as I am, and we aren't supposed to turn a blind eye if we know stuff is going on that shouldn't be.

I may be the only one here, but if Hayley in fact does not tour with Celtic Woman in Europe I for one feel sorry, for them. I mean wasn't that the whole reason she joined them in the first place? So she could get publicity in the US and they could get publicity in the UK? She got the US publicity and it seems to me that she would stick around long enough to help them in the UK. I don't know what's going on, so I really shouldn't say anything, but I think it's unfair to automatically blame everything on Celtic Woman, when we don’t know all the facts yet. Although truth be told, I really shouldn't be commenting, because for me the most important thing is the music. If I like what someone is producing, I'll buy it, plain and simple. I'm not really the kind to phone up an artists management team with my complaints, I mean they are very busy people. If I don’t like what an artist is doing, I can always stop supporting them and buying their records/DVD’s or going to their shows. I think we sometimes get way to involved in these things...

Peter S.
As a member of the CW forum, I can tell you that we are definitely not as close to Celtic Woman's management as you all are to Hayley's. I believe they're aware of the forum, but our administrators (to my knowledge) get in touch with them the same way as everyone else: using the e-mail address provided on the website. I may be the only one here, but if Hayley in fact does not tour with Celtic Woman in Europe I for one feel sorry, for them. I mean wasn't that the whole reason she joined them in the first place? The only thing I would like to say in response to this, is I don't think anyone is blaming Celtic Woman for anything. As far as I can tell, it's their management that is the problem, not the girls themselves.

No one is blaming the girls, of course, it's the management that seems to have issues. The question is, I guess, how involved are the girls in the day-to-day management?
Given that all of them have solo stuff going as well as this, it would not surprise me if they simply handle the musical end of things and rely on the management types to just tell them when and where to show up. I saw Dave Kavanagh only the once on stage, and he comes off as a pretty smooth operator, which is needed in business at his level. However, given that some of the other management types, Rachel, especially, have shown themselves to be heavy-handed and possibly unscrupulous, I wouldn't put anything past them, including playing bait and switch games and refusing refunds.
Yes, I know that's a tough accusation to level, but I've heard enough to believe it's justified. Uh huh, if you want my camera why don't you just try and take it from me?

That's interesting, Chris! I see all the UK venues are still selling tickets, and there's no update on Celtic Woman's website yet! Richard

I Emailed Ticketmaster asking for advice regarding a refund "as this tour had been cancelled" I received one of those electronic 'instant response' thingy's saying my enquiry had been passed to a customer support person. To date I have heard nothing, but then if they're still selling tickets, my Email has probably been filed under W - "we've got another nutter here!" and ignored!! Best wishes Grant
