Hi Thomas, I specifically asked that question and I am sorry to say that the entire tour is off - UK, Germany and the Netherlands. Roger Hi everyone, That sure is very sad news for you who have booked tickets and were looking forward to attend and meet up with each other. Be comforted though...you've still got Hayley !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Love, Marianne

I cannot tell you all how sorry I am to make this post. Steve Abbott has emailed me this evening to say... THE CELTIC WOMAN TOUR IS OFF.I don't know any further details and, because Hayley was not going to be involved, I am not likely to find out much more. I have no idea about refunds of tickets but you will probably need to contact the venues and ticket agencies to enquire. Roger Thank you for the news, Roger. I would not have been able to see the girls again, but I was indeed looking forward to reading any reports on the performances that may have found their way to this forum. I hope to see CW again in 2008, assuming they will perform in the states. Best, Gene

Thank you for the information, Roger. According to the CW Forum admins, it has something to do with low sales. I will cancel my hotel booking right away. Same for my sister's plane tickets...though it will cost me a lot. How fortunate that I hadn't taken my train tickets for London yet. My CW tickets for both shows were being held at the box office. I hope there will be a refund. I'm not too familiar with concert cancellations. Edit: Silly me, I cancelled my room for Shepherds Bush instead of the one for the Royal Albert Hall. I need to find another hotel

Roger,
Thanks for letting us know, although like others, I am disappointed. I was looking forward to seeing CW, even without Hayley.
Steph,
I know that they've said no refunds, but as the entire tour isn't going ahead, I doubt that they can keep saying that.. they'll have to refund. If they don't, then you can always contact your credit card company and declare the purchase as being fraudulent as they have sold a service that they then failed to provide

Thanks for the sad news, Roger.
I'll watch all the links in my reply #237 to make sure the venues know the tour is off, then I'll be seeking a refund from the Royal Albert Hall. I suspect the future could be looking bleak for Celtic Woman.

Martin/Richard,
The RAH website, as well as Gigsandtours.com which is the one listed on CW's official website are still showing the tickets for sale, and CW's website is still showing the tour as being on
However, the Gigsandtours.com website says this under Terms and Conditions:
Once purchased, tickets cannot be transferred, exchanged, refunded or returned unless the event is cancelled, moved to another date, or if details of the event are significantly changed after an order is placed (significant changes being a change of headline act (concerts only), venue or show time).
In the event of the cancellation of an event by the organiser/promoter (ie a cancellation due to circumstances beyond See's control), See will only refund the face value of the ticket. See will use best endeavours to contact purchasers either by phone, email or in writing (using the details provided at the time of ordering) and advise them to return the tickets. Please note, however, it is the customer's responsibility to check whether the event is going ahead at the scheduled date, time and venue, and See cannot guarantee that they will inform the customer of any changes to the event date, time or venue.

I contacted the Albert Hall this morning regarding our understanding of the situation and this is their reply:
"As far as we are aware that event has not be cancelled and will still be taking place as planned. Obviously if an event is cancelled, we will contact everybody that has booked.
Kind Regards
Shane Hough"

Hi
I am bitterly disappointed by the news of CW's cancellation. My RAH ticket states "no refunds". Richard, please let me know what you are told, as I presume you will be visiting RAH's box office personally.
I paid by credit card so will seek redress from Visa if I cannot obtain a refund from RAH.
Tony

The instance you refer to is when you personally ask for a refund because you are unable to attend. Regards Martin

If you are near a tube line, going 'way out' a bit (pick it up on the internet) isn't too horrendous. Peter S.

As far as I know, this tour was only cancelled last evening. It is therefore quite possible that news has not yet filtered through to the venues and booking agencies. I would therefore ask everyone to be patient and not request a refund immediately.
Thanks, Roger
