www.hyperlaunch.com/hayleywestenra/us/This is the e-card for the US version. I found that they choose Sunrise mix of 'What you never know' on the US version. Also, 'She moves through the fair' is not included. They keep 'Bachianas Brasileiras'. Cheers, Raymond

Yay! I'm soooo glad that that version of What You Never Know is on the cd. I was really hoping it would be on there, and now I have my wish! I am also happy that Aria is on there instead of She Moves Through the Fair, because although I like that song, I like Aria better. Now if only Quanta Qualia wasn't on it......

I totally agree with that. "Quanta Qualia" is way to 'modern' for my tastes, lol.

Quanta Qualia? I love that song -- it's beautiful. And as for What You Never Know, I am very disappointed that they're using a remix version. It sounds nice on the radio, but I don't think it goes with the atmosphere of Odyssey at all. Just goes to show how musical tastes can differ.

While I was at Borders yesterday, I saw a demo disk of Odyssey for sale with Both Sides Now and My Heart Belongs To You for only 49 cents, so I bought it since it had a 5 dollar off coupon inside. I listened to it, and the version of My Heart Belongs To You that is going to be on the US version is different then the one on the other versions! I think it sounds better, because the beginning part is a bit louder, so you don't have to turn up the volume in order to hear it. Also, other parts throughout it are louder, like some of the violins, and there is also more drums in it.

I find a bit puzzling, even worrying, that US Odyssey is still below rank 2,000 at Amazon.com, with only three days to the release date. Pure is also ranked in the thousands. Three days before the UK release, Odyssey was up in the Amazon UK top 20, IIRC. Has anyone in the US seen or heard *anything* about this imminent release, in the US media? Are there any PR events or TV shows lined up to help things along next week? Dave

Dave, I've looked at just about every talk and morning/late show website over here...not a word of Hayley. Quite honestly I'm concerned I'll look in the Sunday papers if any stores are featuring Odyssey in their adverts.

Thanks, Meagan, for the news about Borders offering a demo disk of Odyssey for sale, with 'Both Sides Now' and 'My Heart Belongs To You'. The latter song may be a different version than previously known. I wish I had more encouraging news. Joe

Hmmm, well, the local Barnes and Noble said they expect to receive 45 copies of Odyssey, since Hayley's fans are a big part of their clientele. No demo disk, though, maybe I should trip it out to Borders today, although that means I'd have to go to Willowbrook.

No mention of Odyssey is the Sunday paper/adverts. Steven, any luck at Borders? Any posters etc., in-store? Wow, I remember for the release of Pure, the store had huge posters in the shop windows.

you can listen to this on Aol. But they put the international tracklist so the songs are not in the place that they play and it is she moves though the fair that is on it not Aria. and I feel it is more pop than the internatioal one. because the song you are are water is kind of like something like my heart belongs to you.

Thanks Cathleen! Well I've heard the new mix of WYNK already many times (I have a copy of the single that never was! ) and although it grew on me a bit, I've always preferred the original mix - as on the International and UK versions. It's a bit too "poppy" for my tastes. Minus two points for that remix. It's not easy to judge the other two from 30 second samples but unfortunately, I'm fairly sure I won't like either as much as the songs they replaced. Compared to the original, MHBTY has some extra twiddly bits in the background and I'm not sure what that achieves. I'm neutral about that.... but the extra drum beats as the chorus starts just make it step too far over that "pop" line for me - from the bit I've heard, I don't like it - and I LOVE the original version. Minus one point for that remix. You are Water, well I have to say I do NOT like that arrangement (sorry folks). The pop beat and drumming is more prominent than I've ever heard on a Hayley track before and, frankly, however good the original composition may be, I don't like it. Sorry folks - but Hayley isn't that sort of 'pop' singer and this arrangement seems to try and make her one. Universal must be desperate to try and get some US airplay, that's all I can think of. Minus five points for that one. Funnily enough, the backing and tempo reminds me of the track Hayley did for the German animation, "Peaches and Creamy World" sung by Hayley in "Nussknacker und Mausekönig" (soundtrack) but the tune in that was "nicer". Oh dear, that's the most negative post I've ever written about a group of Hayley tracks. Oh dear oh dear oh dear... I hope some of you disagree with me - the more you disagree, the better I'll like it!!! However... I am glad the US version has I Say Grace on it unchanged, and My Heart Belongs To You as well - even though they changed it a bit. You Are Water may be on it for commercial reasons (getting on US TV!!) like the Bocelli duet. If I didn't already have the International version, I would buy the US version but as I have, I probably won't now buy what would be my third version and fourth copy of Odyssey.
