I think what they are doing is not going to help her. I heard the whole thing of you are water from Aol the song has a nice meassge but I do not like it too much it sounds rock not that I am not into that kind of music that would be a lie because I am. But hayley just is not good with that stuff . The light stuff is what she is good at.

I haven't heard YAW yet, but from the lyrics, I see that it's a sort of gratitude/inspirational piece like "You Raise Me Up" and ahould get tons of airplay.

I don't like You Are Water. The reason being that it sounds a lot like a bluesy gospel peace and I'm sorry, Hayley doesn't do that quite well. Also, was she trying for an American accent?

Great stuff! That extra bit of "Water" does sound better - it's the 'beaty drummy' part I hate. I see they've included the (UK) classical mix of She Moves Through the Fair - I prefer that version. And.. calling all US iTuners... there is a free download of "Never Saw Blue (Full length drum mix ) available from the main iTunes home page but... I can only get the preview, from the UK Dave

I like the song "You Are Water" as i thought i would. Will have to get the US version now unless theres a single. Everyone has different tastes, which is not a bad thing. But as i say to people, if you like it listen to it if you don't ,don't. there are plenty of songs on the 2 Odyssey's i have NZ,UK that arn't my cup of tea,Mostly the very classical ones.So i'm glad she does a variety of song types.

Thanks 1littlegirl for the link, I can't wait to get a US version. Any of the US fans want to swap a US version for a copy of My Gift to You or the Hayley Westenra album or the International version of Odyssey.

Just got back from the mall, got 1 of the last 2 copies of Hayley's cd in the store I like "You Are Water" but it could be better without the drums. Wish they kept the Aria track though, it's one of my favourites. Have a feeling the marketing team is trying to make the album more pop than classical. Oh and I noticed they changed My Heart Belongs to You too! More drums and other effects Still have to check out rest of the album to see what else they changed. Belinda, are you still looking for US version of the album? If you don't mind the "Canadian" US version, I can try and get one for you. I've been looking for first 2 albums from Hayley for a while Allen

Thanks to Joe, I received the US version today. Of course, the main difference between this and the other versions is the inclusion of 'You Are Water'. This track is amazing. I thought it might be a little too pop for my tastes but it isn't. Hayley's vocal, especially towards the end is remarkable. It is well worth obtaining this version just to hear it. Many thanks, Joe! Roger

Well, hello to all our friends from overseas! I just listened to the U.S. version, and I think the altered pieces do not sound bad at all. Moreover, "You Are Water" is an excellent addition that hopefully will make ODYSSEY even more appealing to the American audience. So this is now my fifth version of Hayley's latest masterpiece (the other are NZ, JP, TW, UK). All in all, I have bought 11 copies of ODYSSEY compared to 14 albums of PURE (also 5 versions). If you are wondering what I do with all these CDs, I love to give them as gifts and by this I get even more individuals to know Hayley, because people know people. And just recently a friend told me that she let a friend of hers (whom I don't know) listen to the copy I gave her and that friend then got the album herself, too. And just to make sure, with "copy" I mean another original, of course. I have never made illegal copies of CDs and I will definitely not harm Hayley by doing so. PIRACY IS A CRIME! Hopefully, you all agree with me. So long, as Steve (Abbott) would say, "keep spreading the word!" Kind regards from Germany, Holger

Hi Holger, I certainly agree with your views on piracy. Because of that, or rather, because of some unsrupulous people who will make copies, I refuse to lend CDs until they have been released for some time (like a year). I then consider the chances of the borrower deciding to buy their own is greater than the risk of illegal copying. Not sure if I have explained that very well. Roger
