One thing I jsut noticed from these wonderful photos- none of the AA girls were using michrophones! Which is odd, because a) everyone else on stage was, and b) they have at other concerts. Or did they use michrophones that i just couldn't see? (camoflaughed michrophones for NL to not see.. just what my school friends would do if they were me!) ~NL Hi Northernlights Each member of All Angels was sharing a microphone with a member of Blake for the actual final song. Haley had her own mike. The picture you refer to was probably taken at the applause. cheers Tony I suspected this might have been the case, although wasn't sure. From the photos during the song, it kinda looked like that I but I really wasn't sure. Thank you for clearing this up! ~NL

There is a good example of this in the Anna Netrebko thread here. If you can play it, from Last Night of the proms 2007, you will see on the high quality versions that Anna is wearing no microphone as she dances around the stage and sings. What they do is "area mic" the stage, which means setting up many microphones at floor level and higher, all pointing generally at the level of the singer's head and covering the entire stage area, whichever way she is looking when she sings. They only do it when there is no alternative because it takes many expensive microphones (goodness knows how many the BBC used for Anna's performance, I'd guess at least a dozen). Cheers, Dave

Hi Thomas,
Thank you for your detailed report. It's a pity that you didn't have the chance for a talk with All Angels.
Good to hear that you're back home safely just before the Lufthansa strike.
Cheers, Karsten

Hi Mark. Yes, I noticed Hayley rubbing her arms at the end of the concert. Sorry to hear you're not feeling so well yourself. Hi Thomas. I notice you were disappointed not to get a longer chat with Hayley.(I missed it altogether to get a train but she did give me a lovely smile at one point which made the whole evening worthwhile.) I think if you want a longer chat with Hayley you have to plan your concert-going strategically by which I mean you have to choose a concert when she doesn't have another show the following night and hence doesn't need to hurry away at the end. When I see her in November she doesn't have another concert for 5 days so we'll keep her talking half the night !!

Hi guys, Colin took a video of Hine e Hine at Broadlands and has asked me to convert and post it, so here it is! As he mentioned in an earlier post, the sound balance seems to have gone wrong during the finale (where the orchestra drowned out Hayley in places) but I think you'll like it anyway. Hayley - Broadlands - Hine e Hine (500kbps, 18MB, windows media). Nice one, Colin! Cheers, Dave

Hayley singing Hine e Hine still manages to bring a tear to my eye.
I love the video frame it ends on.
Thanks Colin and Dave and of course Hayley

Hi Colin Thanks very much for this video and Dave for the posting. I guess the sound engineer had gone to sleep at the end but nevertheless I enjoyed every minute of it. I also liked the glimpse of "Elton" at the end. Martin
