Hi Stephany
Loved the video! Some very unusual camera work - particularly where the cameraman concentrated on Hayley's outstretched hand - quite beautiful.
I wonder if the associated interview is the one she did in bare feet after loosing her boots in the mud?
Love Grant xxx

Thanks so much Stephany & Joyce.
It gives me such a thrill when Hayley has such well deserved recognition.
Of course she sings the stars out of their places in the Heavens.
How gorgeous is that.
Might I say too that she's able to bring cheer over and above the sadness of Passchendaele. Graeme PS Grant...I loved the perfectly smooth & harmonious motion of the hand too.

Hey Chris & Joyce, you're in the pictures! Many thanks for posting Some of the pics are really nice. On the one below, I see that she had the sheet music for 'Sonny'. Just in case? Stephany Hey Steph, I believe those photos were taken by the guy directly opposite me, as his camera was (annoyingly) flashing away all evening long. He was a local reporter.. ~Chris

Hayley was chatting with various people after the concert, and she had to go onto the grass for the interview. She managed to make it there without any problems, but it was after the interview when she walked off of the grass on the opposite side where she discovered the mud.. ~Chris

PS Grant...I loved the perfectly smooth & harmonious motion of the hand too. Hi Graeme There have been several comments across various threads about Hayley's use of her hands and arms whilst she is singing. I think Andrew went into quite some detail about how she holds her mike in one of his posts some while ago. But until those few seconds of video which concentrated solely on her hand movement, I don't think we've ever seen it like this and out of context before. The cameraman must have noticed something special about it to make it a feature. Well done that man (or woman!) Best wishes Grant

Hi Joyce! Thank you for the article. I tried to read the Flemish one first and couldn't understand everything, but enough to realise that the person who wrote it was very impressed by Hayley. Thank you for the complete translation. I also like this picture in the article. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifThomas

Hi Thomas, this was so funny to discover!!! And i found the photographer of this picture!!! He is in Reply#118, in the second photo, where Hayley is signing my Taiwanese Treasure booklet.!! I can remember there were just a few people waiting to see Hayley, when she came out of the Chateau. He was the one with a proffesional photocamera, and was making pictures inside the Chateau where he met Hayley and others!! Maybe Chris will recognize him too, while he was FLASHING, during the concert??? Greetings from the Netherlands JOYCE!!!

Graeme, the caption you did of Hayley and Helen reminded me of a quote by Oprah Winfrey: "Successful women still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes !" (or boots in this case !!). A rather exclusive shoe shop in my home town has that in their window !

I've been looking at this thread and the photos and it reminded me of a song by Don McLean ("The Grave") the words of which I feel bear repetition on this Remembrance Sunday.
When the wars of our nation did beckon A man barely twenty did answer the calling Proud of the trust that he placed in our nation He's gone ! But Eternity knows him And it knows what we've done!
And the rain fell like pearls on the leaves of the flowers Leaving brown muddy clay where the earth had been dry And deep in the trench he waited for hours As he held to his rifle and prayed not to die,
But the silence of night was shattered by fire As guns and grenades blasted shot through the air One after another his comrades were slaughtered In a morgue of marines alone standing there.
He crouched ever lower, ever lower with fear "They can't let me die ! They can't let me die here ! I'll cover myself with the mud and the earth I'll cover myself, I know I'm not brave ! The earth ! The earth! The earth is my grave !"
The grave that they dug him had flowers Gathered from the hillsides in bright summer colours And the brown earth bleached white at the edge of his gravestone He's gone........
