Hi all!
Thanks everybody for the great reviews and pictures. Grant, your pictures are as great as the ones from Steve and Stuart. Are you sure you're not related to them?

i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifSaturday started very early like usual. I left my flat, picked up my sister at 4.30am and so we drove to Duesseldorf airport. From there we flew to Birmingham where we continued our journey by train to Telford. After a little rest in the hotel we took a taxi to St. George Church because we weren't sure where it exactly was. At the last concert in December Hayley arrived at about 3.30pm and so we decided to be there in time to say a quick "Hello" when she arrives. That actually wasn't the best idea that I had because Hayley was quite late due to bad weather conditions. Hayley, Fiona and Steve Abbott arrived at about 6pm.
But nonetheless Telford is a nice little town and we didn't have to wait too long until someone approached us wearing the same tie like I did.
i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif He introduced himself as Martin.
We were talking a little and decided then to find something to eat which turned out to be quite difficult. In the first pub they told us that food won't be served before 6pm which was too late for us. The other pubs we found served just drinks except the last one. We went in and asked if food will be served and they told us: "No, the cook is on holiday".
Never heard such a stupid answer.
So a few snacks from a small supermarket had to do it for the rest of the day. I hope my rumbling tummy didn't disturb the concert too much.
i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifBack at St. George Church we saw that our group has already become bigger. Teresa and Grant have arrived and also Tim from the USA who came across the pond just for the concert. Later Steve and Stuart Hayter joined us as well as Mark with his family. Mark had our tickets so I was especially happy to see him arrive.
i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifWhen Hayley arrived there was already a queue in front of the church with HWI in the front.
Hayley had just time to say hello, she waved to us and then disappeared into the church for the soundcheck.
After we took our seats in the first rows in the church it didn't took too long until the reverend came out to talk to the audience and to announce that the alarm of a Mercedes went off and a few seconds later Mark rushed to the exit.
i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif Fortuneately nothing happened to the car.
Sorry, Mark, but I had to repeat this. :je
After a while all the waiting has come to an end and Hayley appeared on stage together with Fiona and David. Hayley wore a black dress and looked absolutely stunning. There has already much been said about the details of the concert so that I don't have to repeat everything. For my sister and me it was an amazing concert sitting in the front row seeing and listening to Hayley being just two metres away from her. My favorite songs were Scarborough Fair, Let me Lie, Prayer, May it be, ... Actually all songs were performed wonderfully. Hayley live on stage is so incredibly much better than on CD. Although I love all her CD's by the way.
i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifOur hero of the night was Grant who got his wish fullfilled when Hayley sang Abide with Me. An incredible a capella version. All of us listened absolutely spellbound. I don't have words to describe.
But we shouldn't forget Fiona who played a few wonderful songs on her violin accompanied by David on the piano. My favorites where "Memories of Martin and Mary" a very Irish song and "Hava Naglia" where we were invited to clap and stamp our feet which was a lot of fun.
Even the best concert comes to an end and so this one as well.
But it wasn't over completely. There was a long meet and greet following the concert. I met Fiona the first time on Toast NZ 2006 but I had no chance to talk to her then. So I took the opportunity now. She's very nice and open to her fans and very thankful to our support. I mentioned my sister's and mine NZ trip and so the ice was broken for a little chat.
To talk to Hayley we joined the queue in the back to steal a few exra minutes in the end when most of the people have left. She was very pleased to see us all and was happy to see my sister again although they've met only once she recognised her immediately.
My sister took pictures with Hayley and me and when I just thought this short moment was over Hayley put her arm around me again saying that some more pictures are to be taken. Of course I agreed.
i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif :je My sister joined us then. Can't wait to see those photos (hint

Later we chatted with Hayley and she mentioned that she might spend this year's Christmas in Germany before leaving to NZ!
The reason for this is that Sophie intends to do an exchange from school spending two months in the Black Forest region. We tried to talk to her a few words in German and she responed perfectly without any accent. She said that she needs to practise a bit more but she said that also in German so it didn't seem that she has forgotten too much.
i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifI promised to come back this year so I hope there will be some more concerts in autumn to keep my promise.
In the end we had to say good bye and Steve and Stuart were so nice to drive us to our hotel. Thank you again!
This was my first concert with Hayley being the top act and it was the best Hayley concert I've ever been!!!
Pictures will be posted later.
Yours absolutely westenwowed,
Thomas
