Hayley and Jason Gunn go back a very long way. He was the host of MacDonalds Young Entertainers when Hayley took part in it and made her first TV appearance as a singer.

I enjoyed that! Reminds me of Anuna; I have several of their CDs. Even saw Anuna live once, on one of their rare visits to the UK. I thought they were brilliant, but the three people with me were not so impressed. So you are probably right Comet, an acquired taste.

the Telly, or is it Tele? Yes, reminds me of a TV programme that the BBC used to broadcast on its Welsh language service called Telewele. We pronounced it "tellywelly" and for some reason found it amusing.

Looks like that's that then! Sadly. I hope she doesn't totally turn her back on us, she has some real friends here. She probably needs as many as she can get right now.

And now, after a brief flurry, I suspect we return to the not-so-new normal of "no news is …". It wouldn't surprise me is she says something about the death of her friend Dame Vera Lynn.

RIP Dame Vera. She was someone who touched the hearts of every English person that has been around for the whole of our lives. She will be sadly missed A national treasure.

She responded to usernme "neadajane" who expressed her delight that Hayley had made it home. Hatley responded with "recovering with your beautiful face products" and a heart emoji. Of course, from the context, it could be that she meant that she was recovering from the journey home!

Can we calm down a bit? I can see both points, and I don't think anyone here hates anyone else. Both Dori and Libby have valid points. The thing is, some of us have been here for a long time. We remember when Hayley was a young girl, ripped out of her school and sent to live in a strange (to her) foreign country to make a record. She was on her own, vulnerable and probably lonely, knowing no one of her own age. She did that for us, we derived great pleasure from her music, and the least we could do was to return her love in any way we could. Obviously what we could do was limited without invading her privacy, but we wanted her to know that she was loved and appreciated by her fans. I am sure that our support was important to her. The thing is though, she is now a grown woman, and is able to make her own decisions. She can now make her own choices in life, and like all of us, has made mistakes and hopefully learned from them. She is no longer the beautiful angelic child we once knew, and her support nowadays comes from elsewhere, from her husband and friends. She is making a life for herself in LA, and good luck to her. Just like parents with their children, we have to know when to let go, even though sometimes it feels as though they are cutting us dead, and that hurts. But they are not, they just want a bit of independence, and they will come back to us eventually. Hayley was never able to enjoy that phase of life when she was younger, her life was managed for her. So she is now enjoying her "Greener Lands". Of course we would love new music from her. But that is her decision, she could easily make any recordings available to us if she chose to do so (and as she did with Greener Lands). I know several musicians who do just that, despite the lockdown. The fact that she is not releasing her new material on the internet implies that she still has hopes of releasing it commercially. I hope so anyway.

If she has a job, as we've wondered before, her level of skill would likely be in the "essential" category. Most jobs that don't require a college degree or vast amounts of experience would be things like store clerks, bank tellers (I have a friend who is one and is essential), or food industry. Unless it's a bar, and those are closed, or movie theater, and those are closed as well. Reminds me of a song (which I could imagine Hayley singing): LA is a great big freeway, Put a hundred down and buy a car In a week, maybe two they'll make you a star Weeks turn into years, how quick they pass And all the stars, that never were, are parking cars and pumping gas.

Thank goodness! The problem is, Crissy, that I worked with the public for 12 years, and in my experience, people are always too quick to comment to your face about how skinny, fat, young-looking, pregnant or whatever they think you are, and the people on the other end of that hate it to bits. Imagine Hayley, at her very slender weight, seeing that someone thinks she's pregnant. Just suppose (and she would never read the forum thoroughly enough to know that this "theory" was all because of a ridiculous caption about Chris' long legs). Can you imagine what that could do to someone with her past bout with an eating disorder (and quite possibly returned bout)? Take a look at what happened to Karen Carpenter, if you please? So, sue me for being a little sensitive on that side of the argument. And as much as I like you, you seem a lot like one of those people I've dealt with in the public. Sorry. Yes, I'm now guilty of commenting on her weight. But I am not one of those people, however. Because unfortunately this time, I think there might actually be a possiblity for concern. Sure, her long hair, and the way it's framing her face, could be enhancing the look. But... you can see the veins in her arm. I've seen arm veins on all manner of people before, but I've never seen Hayley's arm veins. You can't see mine. Even when it's hot. But nowadays, it’s more than just about being skinny. I think some of us are concerned about her well-being in general these days. Yes, I too have concerns about commenting on Hayley's weight and skinniness. I once knew someone who suffered from anorexia, and it is no joke. Their thinness is an obsession, sometimes to the point of making themselves sick after eating what they consider too much (ie more than a sparrow would eat). Making comments about it that they could read risks making things worse, which is why in my opinion we should avoid it. I'm not saying that Hayley is anorexic by the way, but we don't know that she isn't either. Taking care of her health is up to Hayley and those around her. She ought to know what she is doing, her mum is a nutritionist after all.
