Yes, belated Happy Birthday Emily and welcome. Lots of fascinating history recorded here. Not much happening at the moment with Hayley though - reminds me of a certain Paul Simon song that starts off "Hello darkness my old friend".

Thanks for doing that Libby. I was struggling to make out some of the lyrics, and I think you have got it. As always with Hayley, a well crafted lyric.

This is very good news. Hayley was understandably tentative after such a long time away from performing live, but her voice is still there and as strong as ever, and her performances will become more polished I'm sure when she gets back into it. And even better, she is still writing new songs. Dare I suggest that those of us who have stuck with her through thick and thin might be about to see something new and wonderful from Hayley? I certainly hope so.

At this time of COVID it is difficult for Hayley or anyone else to do very much, especially after a complete change of location. She would need to work to re-establish herself in NZ if that is what she wants to do, and that is difficult at this time. Added to which she has been through a lot, and is no doubt still feeling sore. I don't expect much anytime soon, but I live in hope that she will eventually find her feet again.

That’s amazing Joe. Here in the UK life grinds to a halt when we have only 20mm and we are usually always ill-prepared for heavy snow.
I am told by my Welsh relatives that in the year I was born the winter snow in South Wales valleys reached the windows of the first floor bedrooms! There was some drifting that caused this unprecedented depth but they had at least 10ft. Half of all sheep in Wales died that winter with temperatures falling to -16 degC and the situation was deemed so serious that the American Air force was deployed to the hills of parts of rural Wales where they dropped hay bales for stranded grazing animals. Seattle is the same in regards to snow; worse in the suburban cities, where I am. I tried to do a search on the event you described; luckily for you I couldn't find a thing, so I don't know what year it was! Chances are it was 1947, which had a very cold and snowy February in UK. But the coldest winter of the 20th Century here was 1963, where snow lay continuously from Boxing Day until early March even in lowland locations. But we were hardier then. My daughter, a teacher, turned up this morning saying that the school was closed because od the 2cm snow we have lying (she teaches special needs and key worker children, so is still working though the lockdown). I told her that I was at school in 1963, and the school never closed once throughout those 3 months of snow and ice. As I said, we were hardier back then.

I was sorry to have missed that tour. But it couldn't be helped, by wife was in hospital at the time having a hip replaced, so no way I could get away.

Pity they don't give awards or even recognition for the number of views. My Hayley Ave Maria from Beaumanor Hall is closing in on 2 million!

She posted another new story today, about 3 hours ago, saying she got got up for coffee, and went back to bed to write. More bricks, I mean, songs, I guess. I wonder how many songs she's written in the last 6-7 years. Speaking of which, it's almost 6 years since her Cork and Madison concerts. But not forgotten. Only Yesterday I showed my congregation my recording of Hayley's performance of Peace Shall Come from Cork City Hall on 13th December 2014 as part of a service I was leading. We can't sing hymns, so we have to do other things!

Yes, I remember a time when Sophie lived with Hayley in London. Perhaps Sophie is now returning the compliment while Hayley has business in Auckland.
