I've been on holiday in Spain since 24th April Hi, Colin, That's my country, so, would you like to tell us what part of Spain have you been to and what were your impressions? Michal Hi Michal I have a timeshare apartment in Calahonda on the Costa del Sol, about midway between Fuengirola and Marbella. I've been going there for over 20 years at this time of the year. Generally it's a great tonic for getting over our winter in the UK and getting us ready for the summer. I love this part of Spain - truthfully the only part I've visited - but I've managed to venture out to places like Cadiz, Jerez, Jimena, Ronda, Granada, but I've yet to visit Seville. I managed to get a great shot of sunset over the Straits of Gibraltar this year which I'll try to reduce to a smaller size and post on the photography board in due course. The hospitality of the Spanish people is wonderful - the laid-back conviviality of people there is just so refreshing after months of stressful work back home. I particularly like Mediterranean cuisine - it's so fresh and flavoursome, and I especially love seafood. The ability to eat al fresco virtually all year round is an added bonus. Now, however, it's back to real life... work on Monday morning, and the start of a serious diet Kind regards Colin

Hi all I believe that Ross should be granted the first HWI Service Above and Beyond the Call of Duty Medal for all the information and media he's provided us with over the last week or so - thanks very much Ross for all that you've done! I've been on holiday in Spain since 24th April and so I didn't initially pre-order Paradiso for fear of it arriving while I was away. However, I managed to persuade my brother to order it for me and have found that he's received it today, the day I've returned from holiday. So I'm off to Somerset tomorrow to pick it up He's actually listened to it, and while not a fan of Hayley's before, he thinks this album is stunning (result!!!! I've tried to persuade him for eight years!!!). Kind regards A very excited Colin...

Cheers, Dave. It sounds like you've taken the creaky seats out! Grant - is that your "Whoa!" at the end? I think it is. Kind regards Colin

My choices were 7 & 5.
I think the three highest are 5, 2, 4.

Hi everyone
Apple are operating a "12 Days of Christmas" giveaway on iTunes in the UK, and today (31/12/2009) they are offering the download film of Lesbian Vampire Killers completely free. It may not be to everyone's taste, but it does allow those of us who do not have the soundtrack album to listen to Hayley's involvement. Be warned though that it is a long download (1.2GB).
Kind regards
Colin

Hi Martin Did anyone get the name of the girl bass player? I don't think it was Matt Round as per programme. Martin Yes - her name was Jo Nichols. Regards Colin

Thanks everyone....Great work. Did anyone record O Holy Night?? Graeme Hi Graeme I've PM'ed you Grant, Richard & Karsten - it was great to meet up with you and have a chat at long last! Hayley said she wanted this year to go out on a high and I think we can certainly say indeed she did! A fabulous evening, and well worth the difficulties of the homeward journey back down the M3 past Basingstoke, though that did mean we had to leave straight after the concert. Best wishes Colin

Hi Dave & Grant
I can confirm your findings in Asda down here in Southampton as well, Grant.
Not only that, there was no sign of Hayley at Sainsburys either. A lady was stocking the CD shelves as I looked so I asked her if she had Hayley's CD. She looked through her list for both this week and next and Hayley didn't appear in either, though Faryl appeared to be in the mid-40s on this week's list (though I don't know if that was the chart number).
I had to get it in HMV's at the end, for £10.99, where they had plenty of copies and it was well-displayed in the New Releases section.
Kind regards
Colin
