Not sure if anybody has seen this, or how official it may or may not be, but on Sainsbury's site they have Lullaby as a pre-order CD with artwork to be confirmed (currently showing Hayley's Wiegenlied single cover) with a release date of 17 June 2013. Here's the link: www.sainsburysentertainment.co.uk/en/Music/CD/Hayley-Westenra/Lullaby/product.html?product=E11221191The "dispatched in 11 working days" is obviously wrong and presumably just standard text they use. Has anyone else seen a date around this time that might confirm it or otherwise? Cheers Colin

It looks like Dave has been busy as well - I watched it on HWI's home page...
And WOW is right!!
Thank you Dave!
I've also watched the mini documentary on the official site - and the wonderful words Ennio Morricone speaks of her... absolutely awesome!
Kind regards
Colin

Hi Martin D Yes, I agree with most of what you say too - I'm agreeing with everybody today, this is beginning to feel like a coalition! For me, Paradiso is to Hayley what Revolver was to The Beatles. It's an example of all the artists involved "being at the peak of their creative powers at the exact same moment". And when that happens the results are truly fabulous. I also believe that Ennio Morricone's influence on this album is immense, and exactly the influence that Hayley needed at this point in her career. However, I am hopeful that the next album - which will be pivotal, for sure - will help define Hayley as one of the all-time greats. Kind regards Colin

Hi Grant I think it should be "Maybe Ennio pushed Hayley further than she thought she could go" or even believed she could go. Best wishes Grant I agree - that's really what I meant - thanks for clarifying my thoughts for me Kind regards Colin

Hi all
Another day, another few listenings to Paradiso...
The more I listen to this album the more I'm inclined towards Amalia Por Amor as my favourite song, but it's one amongst so many.
Some people have mentioned that there is not a bad song on Paradiso. I'll take it a step further - there is not an average song on it either. Masterpiece? Of that I have no doubt… in both their catalogues.
While I imagine most of the musical decisions will have been Ennio Morricone's, the fact that he has pushed Hayley further than she wanted to go can only fill her with confidence for the future and make her realise that she can achieve most anything she puts her mind to. In this respect, I believe the true legacy of Paradiso is yet to come.
But in the meantime… I'll put up with what is unquestionably Hayley's finest hour and sink into my armchair, headphones on and listen in awe.
Thank you, Maestro… thank you, Hayley…
Kind regards
Colin

Hi all
This was difficult, but I ended up voting the same as Libby with Whispers in a Dream, Amalia Por Amor and La Califfa.
Once Upon a Time in the West is probably my fourth favourite, with Malena and Here's to You close behind.
Curiously, Whispers in a Dream somehow reminds me of Listen to the Wind, my hitherto all time favourite Hayley song.
Kind Regards
Colin

"Whispers In A Dream" remains my favorite track - It's the first track you hear and the lyrics are stunning. I still can't stop playing this album! Best wishes Grant Hi Grant Yes, this too is my favourite track. But working out the others is a very hard task indeed. Amalia Por Amor certainly... I think... and La Califfa... or Malena... or Here's to You... or Once Upon A Time in the West... oh dear But to paraphrase my headline on cdjapan for HSJS, my ears have fallen in love again Kind regards Colin

Hi all While recently on holiday in Spain, I took this looking west from my balcony: Sunset, Straits of GibraltarOn the left is the north coast of Africa (possibly around Ceuta) crossing to Gibraltar on the right which is then attached to mainland Spain on the far right. Kind regards Colin

Hi all For people interested in The Hobbit movies, this is an excellent 10-minute videoblog from Peter Jackson: www.rottentomatoes.com/m/hobbit-2010/trailers/11142704When the Fellowship of the Ring "Shire" music begins it almost feels we're back in Middle Earth already Kind regards Colin

Hi all OK - I've managed another couple of listenings to Paradiso on the way home from Somerset to Hampshire today. Not the best way of listening to Hayley, but certainly the best way of spending a couple of hours on the road. I adore this album To me it seems like a concerto for the voice the way that Ennio Morricone has weaved Hayley's voice around all the sounds of the orchestra, and it flows through you like waves. I believe this was an artistic choice by Morricone, almost as if he's been waiting all his life for a voice that could carry this experiment and so gloriously succeed with it. This is certainly a unique album in my experience. I need to vote for my favourite tracks... which is going to be unbelievably difficult. Kind regards Colin
