Hi Joyce ...........OOOOOOOOOhhhhhhhh............................ I heard the CD now a several times, and IMO This is the best album of Hayley i'd ever heard FANTASTIC !!!!Can you imagine........busy in my garden.......windows wide open.........and Hayley singing!!! She's making my day!!!!! Greetz JOYCE. I take it you like it then? i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifIt took an hour for my goose bumps to disappear after I first listened to it! I think it's amazing how Hayley always manages to choose precisely the right songs for her CDs - and this one is full of them. Kind regards Colin

Hi Dave This album is currently no. 41 in the main Amazon Japan ranking - which is good for a Hayley release in Japan. It is no. 1 at HMV Japan in the Easy Listening section and this means it gets promoted on their main front page. It will be next week before we find out how it's doing in the official charts. Dave I see that the Special Edition is at No 1 and the standard version at No 20. Does this mean that they are treated as distinct albums for their chart positions, or is this just how HMV records them? It would seem a little unfair if they were separated in the charts. Kind regards Colin

Hi Tin Hi Colin, I'd be really pleased if you can try ripping the CD into your computer hard disk (ie. Import the songs in to iTunes, if you're using it). Can you try it if you have time? Thank you. Tin I can also now confirm that iTunes on the PC reads the CD as well. Kind regards Colin

Hi Roger Isn't it? I had no idea there was another song of the same title and I can definitely imagine Hayley singing the familiar one. Actually, I'm surprised that she hasn't. Let's face it, we'd rather listen to her than to Con, Dec and John! I think that you can name the Bachelors is a little scary. It must mean you're as old as I am!!! Best wishes Colin

Hi everyone A final couple of snippets: I Believe is not the old Bachelors song. But I think it might well become a favourite with many people - it is outstanding Also, Hayley is down as writing many of the English lyrics on the CD - I presume this is more than just mere translation, which is very good to see. Unless people ask I won't post any more until others have a chance to listen to their copies first. Kind regards Colin

Hi Tin
It certainly does on my Mac. I'm importing them into iTunes now.
The Gracenote database that iTunes uses to name the tracks though doesn't know the CD yet! I'll have to type in all the track names afterwards, I guess.
I'll let you know if my PC recognises the disk a little later.
Kind regards
Colin

Hi everyone I've just been down to the post office on the off chance that the parcel had already arrived, and it had!!! I can confirm that it is just called Hayley Sings Japanese Songs with the cover we've seen already. It's a plain CD, but there are two booklets (in the De Luxe edition at least), one with lyrics the other with photos. There are two or three photos of Hayley that I've not seen before. It came together with the Amazing Grace and the Where Do Go From Here single CDs. Now to listen to them! Kind regards Colin PS - According to the documentation that came with the CDs, cdjapan shipped them on 31st May. I'm so impressed with these guys - they're quicker than Amazon.co.uk with their deliveries!

Hi everyone I'd just like to add my thanks to Roger and Dave for all their hard work over the last few days. So too to all the Proboards staff - I work in IT myself, so I can understand what they've probably been going through. The data centre explosion seems to have coincided with my 50th post a few days ago. I dread to think what's going to happen with my 100th post Thanks once again, Roger and Dave Kind regards Colin

Hi everyone Hello everyone, Hayley's duet single with Minako Honda has entered the official Japanese International Singles chart (Oricon) at No. 1Dave Admittedly I said this in the album thread at the beginning of April, but come on: Hi Grant and Roger Likewise, I've pre-ordered both now. Perhaps at this rate it will go straight to No 1 in Japan when it's released on the strength of export sales alone Regards Colin And my lottery numbers for Saturday are: 1, 7, 18, 28, 32, 38 :2fun: Congratulations, Hayley!Kind regards Colin

Hi everyone I'm not sure if this has been seen before, or indeed if this is the right place (perhaps it should on the Music of the Spheres album thread), but it may be of interest to some: www.flickr.com/photos/mikeoldfieldblog/2324704113/sizes/l/BTW - It's nothing to do with me, I just came across it while browsing. Hi Sonata
(I don't know your name so I hope that's OK.)
There's a pretty good interview on the Live from New Zealand DVD called In Her Own Words which deals with Hayley's early career. There's input from her parents and brother and sister as well. I think it was made when she was about 17.
Kind regards
Colin

Hi everyone I voted "Other". My other female artist is Heather Nova, but it would need to be an up-tempo number like Summer Fly. Maybe even Heather Nova is the right Heather to sing Chattanooga Choo Choo with Hayley (A close second to this would be a "technical duet" like the new Japanese Amazing Grace but with Ella Fitzgerald - a think a cleverly arranged version of Summertime between Ella and Hayley would be sumptuous.) My other male artist would be Will Martin. Stephany noted on another thread that Hayley and Will singing Come What May from Moulin Rouge would be gorgeous, and I agree. Kind regards Colin
