Hello everyone Whilst I had no trouble at all downloading the 'cheapo' version of "Un Giorno Per Noi", the best quality version caused me quite a headache! Clicking on the link left my WMP version 9 sitting for ages 'connecting' though it didn't seem to be doing much at all. I downloaded version 11 - nice skin but same result! A friend suggested right clicking on the link then 'save as' that worked! Great picture, no sound!! Then I realised that only about 18mb of the 57+ mb had downloaded. I tried a couple more times and eventually the whole thing downloaded. Fantastic sound - no picture! And each time an error message saying that WMP could not play the file. I even resorted to sending Dave a PM, during the afternoon, but no amount of cajoling and swearing (on my part I hasten to add!) could persuade WMP 11 to play it. By now it is gone midnight. Dave suggested downloading a VLC Player - I did - same result. I deleted the existing file and downloaded it again. I can tell you that, at 0055 this morning, I hit the 'play' button with some trepidation. It worked!!I can now say with absolute certainty that it was worth the effort to get this amazing duet in such superb quality and I have already played it several times just to make sure it's still there! Thanks for your help and advice Dave and, if anyone else is having trouble, persevere! It will be worth it!! Best wishes Grant Edit: I never thought to try Real Player, which I already had installed. I've just tried it and that plays sound without picture but with no error message!

Hi Grant, I had the same trouble with WMP 11 on another computer. There was only audio, too. It seems really a codec problem, because it worked very fine on my own PC. There were also no problems with zoom player and jetAudio. Hi Thomas, Better late than never... Hope that you've some pictures left. Many thanks for posting. Hi Ross, thank you for the find. Cheers, Karsten

Hi all! Ross, thank you for your scan. Nice to see Hayley in a NZ newspaper. They don't forget her although she's far away most of the time. But how could they? Some more from the Brits. For those photos I didn't need long arms. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifGrant and Stephany ready for the show to begin I didn't take photos during the show so here are a few after the Classical Brits have ended for this year. Hi Martin, First, see the article posted by Dave also on this forum....the people who ran this event made a very specific and concerted attempt to make it visual - it was after all a televised event and must compete in that market to succeed. It may have been true that 100 years ago it really was all about this music. Maybe even 50 years ago. But not today, if for no other reason than that virtually all mediums in which we are exposed to singers are visual. This was a performance of a song, but the key word is performance - and it succeeded admirably. Even on this site it has never been all about the music Martin. If it were, why would there be thousands of pictures of Hayley? Second, I think that several million people in America would disagree with you about Josh Groban. This is the direction he has taken his recent music, and he has been very successful in doing so. He hasnt lost his crossver classification here, his fanbase has been willing to go wherever he has led them, and he has substantively increased his sales volume over the course of time - during which time the sales of most artists have been falling. Jon Hi Jon, If that was their brief, then Hayley and Jon succeeded brilliantly. It is probably just me then! I am simply not a very visual person. I appreciate Hayley primarily for her music, and the stunning beauty of her voice much more than her physical beauty and acting, although as we have seen they are considerable. There are many beautiful actresses in the world. Not one in a thousand can sing like Hayley, perhaps not one in a million, perhaps not one at all. I would rather see Hayley competing in the area where she excels. I think even if Hayley had not had her wonderful musical talent, she could still have succeeded as a dancer, actress, film star or model. That was a very sexy performance by Hayley. It reminds me of the song lyric "those little eyes so helpless and appealing One day will flash and send you crashing though the ceiling". That is exactly what she has just done I feel. I'm not used to that yet, I need to adjust. I know I am one of those who has applauded her progress in that direction, but when she hits you with it like that and with such power, it is a bit of a shock. But despite that. I like it. Even though I still think of Hayley primarily as a musician, she is someone who for me can do no wrong. Oh, and re Josh, yes, lots of people have courted popularity by moving downmarket. Charlotte Church for example. But it doesn't mean I have to like it! Martin

Glad you are coming to Broadlands look forward to seeing you there !! Best Wishes, Graham Hi Graham! I couldn't resist to book that. Might be my only chance to see the All Angels in concert this year. It will be nice to meet you again after Buxton. Maybe I should move to the UK. That would reduce my costs for travelling. Thomas

Hello everyone Whilst I had no trouble at all downloading the 'cheapo' version of "Un Giorno Per Noi", the best quality version caused me quite a headache![snippage] Glad you sorted it out in the end Grant! Everyone, I did some work on the original video on Monday and managed to slightly improve the rather variable brightness levels on the original broadcast - so if you or anyone wants to see the (admittedly subtle) improvements, you'll have to download it all over again (sorry!). I've also increased the bitrate even more on the HQ version, from 1600 to 2300 kbps (though it didn't make a lot of difference to be honest). Anyway, here is the very slightly improved version 2. Un Giorno Per Noi version 2 standard quality (.wmv 19MB) Un Giorno Per Noi version 2 high quality (.wmv 82 MB) Some people may find this plays better than the XVID version below.Un Giorno Per Noi version 2 high quality (.XVID 83 MB) Now if you are feeling bored and have nothing better to do, you can play spot the difference I've also uploaded the standard quality version 2 to HWI here and the high quality version 2 is now on YouTube (hwivid). It's best to right-click and "Save As" to your PC, for the big files. If you don't use a download manager (like Getright), Firefox is better at downloading these big files than Internet Explorer, as Firefox can pause and resume if the download is interrupted (or you can manually pause it yourself several times during the download, then resume, which seems to help at some times of day). So open the HWI forum in Firefox or, if you prefer, right-click on the link above to get the Properties, then copy and paste the url into Firefox. Unfortunately the Servage web servers I use have been a bit flaky at times recently and IE can't really handle that as well as Firefox. Cheers, Dave

I certainly do Thomas...that card has sure done some 1000's of kms. But nowhere near the distances that Hayley passes over....I couldn't even hazard a guess how many flybuy points she must have amassed up to date. Love your pics of you surrounded by all those glamourous black clad women. ::)Sigh Also the aerial shots of a very animated Hayley. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifGraeme

Hi Dave Many thanks for the latest high quality version of "Un Giorno Per Noi". Interestingly, it downloaded in about 4 minutes and WMP 11 plays it perfectly without any prompting!! Best wishes Grant
