This time, we could feel a very strong connection between Jonathan & herself. It helped to make this duet absolutely sensational. They were also both acting throughout the song and I thought it was very sweet and well-performed. Hi Stephany, Dave and everyone. We commented several times on the night and since that the connection between Jonathan and Hayley made this a very powerful duet, and watching again just proves the point. I watched it last night and I've just watched Dave's video. It's a pity they had to use hand held microphones - I found them quite intrusive in the close-ups. With both hands free for expression I think it would have been even more memorable! Best wishes Grant

Dave, many thanks for the video.
Richard, agreed most definitely the highlight of a brilliant night.
Grant, yes if they had the small head mounted mic's they could have been even more expressive. As long as they did not get locked together when they rested their heads on each others shoulders. There was a momentary pause just before this when it looked almost as though they were going kiss. Magical.
Does anybody know where I can find a translation of the words.
Jim

:rollin What an excellent video Dave. Hayley has definitely improved in her stage presence and you could feel the chemistry between them. Incidentally I got my copy of Jonathan Ansell CD a couple of days ago but I haven't listen to it yet. I am glad this song is on the CD.

This was a very good production by ITV and Hayley's duet had much better sound quality than during the concert ( where I was sat the acoustics were not great at times). I also liked the close-ups of Hayley and I can report that the member who had a particular (embarrasing) close-up is now waiting for the royalties to pour in. Martin

... Does anybody know where I can find a translation of the words? Jim, there are several good translations out there, including this one: A time for us, some day there'll be When chains are torn by courage born of a love that's free A time when dreams so long denied can flourish As we unveil the love we now must hide A time for us, at last to see A life worthwhile for you and me And with our love, through tears and thorns We will endure as we pass surely through every storm A time for us, some day there'll be a new world A world of shining hope for you and me For you and me And with our love, through tears and thorns We will endure as we pass surely through every storm A time for us, some day there'll be a new world A world of shining hope for you and me (By the way, the first song I ever heard with this music came from the movie Romeo & Juliet, and is called "What is a Youth" which can be experienced via good ol' YouTube if you click HERE!)

Hi Steve Many thanks for the lyrics. I guessed from Hayley and Jonathan's performance on stage that they would go something like that! Best wishes Grant

Hi everyone Well - what can I say , although I was in the audience, I enjoyed watching it all over again almost as much. An absolutely stunning performance Hayley It was good to see the performance from the TV camera's perspective and I must say that the TV company did a wonderful job. The only slight disappointment was that at the end of the song when Hayley & Jonathan embraced, the camera had zoomed right out and away. Oh yes - well done Martin for representing HWI on national television ! Thanks for the videos Dave. The cameras don't hang around much in any one spot for long, so I found it quite difficult to spot any of us in the audience. How did you manage to find 12 of us Roger ? Best wishes Mark

Steve
Thanks for the translation. The words help to follow the performance. As I said before. Magic.
Hayley mentioned the set in one interview. I must admit I did not notice the set whilst they were performing.

This was a very good production by ITV and Hayley's duet had much better sound quality than during the concert ( where I was sat the acoustics were not great at times). Hi Martin, I was about to make exactly the same comment myself - the sound quality in the Hall was not as good as last year - it sounded like the sound engineers were more used to doing pop concerts! All credit to ITV though for doing a much better job for TV and for promoting Hayley and Jonathan to a spot before 11pm, I think this is important and it will do them both no harm at all in the UK music industry as well as of course the public. The order of performances was: Andrea Bocelli and Sarah Brightman - Canto Della Terra Josh Groban - February Song Jonathan Ansell and Hayley Westenra - In Giorno Per Nio ===AD BREAK=== Josh Groban - Smile (Chaplin) Sarah Brightman and Andrew Swait - Pie Jesu (Webber) ===AD BREAK=== David Garrett, Valeriy Sokolov, XueFei - Navarra Danielle De Niese - Les Filles De Cadix Andrea Bocelli and Anna Netrebko - Brindisi Where two or more performed, their names were announced in alphabetical order as above, before they sung. I think Hayley and Jonathan were promoted because Anna Netrebko (who is about 5 months pregnant) dropped out of singing "Les Filles De Cadix" and was replaced by the lesser known Danielle De Niese, who was demoted for TV. It's an ill wind that blows nobody any good... i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifMark, my only small quibbles were similar to yours, they cut too quickly from one camera to another (copying pop videos I guess so it's becoming a bad habit in the industry now) and they rushed into the ad break too quickly after Un Giorno finished. Some of the camera angles were weird as well, with a few cuts from cam to cam mis-timed but they did zoom in on some fabulous moments and of course, Hayley and Jonathan shone though it all! Cheers, Dave

Hi everyone. I loved all the performances but I thought Hayley and Jonathan were the stars of the show. Such passion and emotion and such wonderful chemistry between them. It was a joy to listen to and watch them. And I so hope they duet together again. I didnt expect them to come on so early in the programme but I'm over the moon that they did - hopefully more people will have been watching. For anyone who missed it or wants to watch it again - the show is repeated on Saturday (17th May) on ITV 3 at 2.55 pm! Thanks for all the wonderful photos and reviews on here too - it's been great to see them and read everything. Love Melody xx
