Hello again Morten! As you probably know, Hayley is very popular in Japan, so if you tell her you're a Black Belt in Karaoke you could be in with a chance! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifI might have a better chance, because Hayley was very impressed when I told her about my brief appearance on "Songs of Praise" in 1992. I was keeping it warm for her! I'm also very experienced at being eighteen, because I was for the third time only two years ago! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifI like to keep the Forum environmentally friendly, so I recycle my old jokes! It's 10th April, so Happy Birthday Hayley! Bye for now, Richard

Hi, Richard what were you doing on 'Songs of Praise' ? Hayley and Morten being linked as a couple, they did look very cosy together, the clip was brilliant especially when Morten gave Hayley his jacket she looks like she just burst into laughter, very good clip. ****HAPPY BIRTHDAY HAYLEY**** Emmett.

Hello again Emmett! I was a member of the congregation in an edition of Songs of Praise from Holy Trinity Church, Clapham Common, in support of the Hospice movement. My mother was in nearby Trinity Hospice back in 1984, and I've been supporting the Hospice ever since. If I ever appear on Songs of Praise again, I would like to be one of a quartet with Hayley, Katherine Jenkins and Morten Harket. We might be the biggest thing since Bucks Fizz, or am I confusing Songs of Praise with the Eurovision Song Contest?!!! When I've got my DVD player, I'll start saving up for a leather jacket, but I'll get one big enough for two! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifExit, stage left! Richard

Hello again Stephanie! I think the sound engineers had a few problems trying to get the right balance between Hayley and Morten. I'm sorry if this makes you jealous, but I've seen and met Hayley at live concerts four times in just over 18 months. Her voice is getting noticeably stronger at the lower end of her range, but her high notes are as crisp and pure as ever, so I don't think there's anything to worry about. It's worth remembering that "Pure" was recorded over two years ago now, before Hayley turned 16! Best Wishes from London, Richard

Hi,
Well done on that appearance on 'Songs of praise', thats a very good cause you are supporting.
That sounds like a great line up for the Eurovision, why not get more members, Charlotte Church and Holly Hollyoake but you would then need someone to pretend to play an instrument. It sounds like a winner, much better than all the other Eurovision rubbish, but thats why we love it.
So you want to be like Morten, next time you meet her do the same as Morten did....lol.

'It's worth remembering that "Pure" was recorded over two years ago now, before Hayley turned 16!'
I remember reading in Hayleys book, that the first recording for 'Pure' were done in April 2003 in Dublin, but this version was scrapped and recorded again by a different producer.
And when the new album is released it will show how much stronger her voice has gotten.

Hello again Emmett! I was going to say that Hayley wouldn't be eligible for the Eurovision Song Contest, being from New Zealand, but her forebears came from the British Isles. I remember Celine Dion sang in it a few years ago, and she's a French-Canadian. I can't remember who she represented, but who cares?!!! You can join the line-up if you pretend to play the uilleann pipes! (Thanks to Google for their help with the spelling!) To get back to the original topic (I'm a GM and I don't want to get the sack), I would love to put my jacket round Hayley, but not if I get cold instead. That's why I want one with room for two! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifAs for the dates "Pure" was recorded, that could be something to check with Hayley next time we meet her. Bye for now, Richard

Hi Richard,
Celine Dion sang for Switzerland as I seem to remember. Probably one the only people to make it big after winning the Eurovision.
The 'uilleann pipes', they must be like bag pipes. I think I would be better with a musical triangle its probably the only instrument I could play.
Yeah about those 'Pure' dates I never heard anyone else mention them apart from in the book. And i heard that Hayley might be doing some recording this time around over here in Dublin with that same producer. Cheers GM!!!!!!!

Hello again Emmett, my typing finger's getting tired! ABBA made it big after winning the Eurovision Song Contest back in 1974, and they won it for Sweden. One of the girls came from Norway, just like Morten Harket. Phew! I've got this thread back on topic again, and now I'm going home! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifGoodnight from London, Richard

Is'nt ABBA the third largest selling act in the world ? After Elvis and the Beatles ?
Morten Harket hosted the Eurovision contest in 97 or 98...................................
However are'nt we a bit off topic now ??

Hello again Emmett, Morten and Stephanie! As far as I'm concerned, all this discussion revolves around Hayley's duet with Morten Harket, so it's not so far off topic. As I've said before, with Hayley one thought leads to another, and I'm sure the same goes for A-Ha! Surprise, surprise, I've just had two more thoughts! (1) You can't go to any live concerts of ABBA, Elvis or the Beatles, but you can certainly go to see Hayley or Morten Harket. (2) There are millions of tribute acts to ABBA, Elvis and the Beatles, but I bet we won't ever see a tribute act to Hayley that's anything like her! I've had a good night's sleep, so I'm back on form this morning. You've been warned! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifBye for now, Richard

There are several amateure tributebands of A-ha ( Morten Harket is the vocalist ). In the UK, USA and Brazil And Coldplay and Keane are very big fans of A-ha. Coldplay occationally plays " Hunting High and Low " or " The Living Daylights " in concert i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifAnd Sarah Brightman thinks Mr. Harket has an amazing voice.............................. Hayley has just started in the business and is very young still. I'm sure if you look at her career in a long term, she will earn mad respect in many different areas of the musicindustry and the music loving public. let's just hope that both Hayley and her recordcompany thinks long term success, rather then short term success. I have no doubt that Hayley is in it for the long term. I'm crossing my fingers that Decca to supports her.
