Yes of course, but I am slightly disappointed that it's Silent Night as we have many TV recordings of Hayley singing it. Also, O Holy Night is "the big one" in terms of popularity, but Russell Watson has that one. Dave Hayley was a last minute substitution for the scheduled artist (Beverley Knight) who was ill. I expect Russell's contribution was planned weeks beforehand. Hayley's song would have had to be something which both she and the orchestra could put on at virtually no notice. I for one am extremely thankful that Hayley was there at all. John

Yes, it was good to see her for sure. Aled rather likes kissing her doesn't he (who could blame him)?
It means another rare TV appearance for Hayley, although I too would rather she had sung "O Holy Night", which she sings so beautifully with so much conviction that it never fails to lift my spirits. I would like more people to experience that.

Hi Dave! I just LOVE 12 Days of Christmas! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif It's a lot of fun!! Thank you very much for going to the trouble to record and upload those videos -- what would we do without you?? Hayley looks and sounds fantastic. Her hair is very pretty and that white dress is just divine - very Christmassy. Cheers, Jillian

Hi Dave,
Thanks a lot for the videos.
Have you thought about uploading Hayley's interview by Aled, just before she sang Silent Night? Some people here might like to see it.

And I can't stand it! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif It's very annoying. It's interesting to read about the symbolic meanings behind all the nonsense, though. And since Hayley's singing it, I'll give it a chance. Well, I guess it's not as bad as the grandma/reindeer and My 2 front teeth songs.

Perhaps tomorrow I'll upload the Hayley intro-chat (it's not really an interview in the usual sense) and also the interesting introduction/explanation by Howard Goodall to Twelve Days... watch this space Dave

If I pretend I don't understand the lyrics its OK. Love 'O Holy Night' & 'Silent night'....brilliant! Graeme

Martin, Hayley sings Silent Night beautifully, too, and I'm glad people could experience that, at least. I prefer women singing Silent Night anyway. What would the other guys have sung if she had done O Holy Night, I wonder. Another thing, the song isn't on Hayley's album, whereas Silent Night is. So maybe it's better for her to sing something from the album. If Hayley had done OHN, and people searched for her album and saw that it wasn't on the album, they might be disappointed and be less likely to get it. Maybe not really, but as John said, it wasn't planned for her to be there anyway, so it's not surprising they did an "easy" song, not to mention the other guys' songs were already decided.

Thanks Dave!! ...I missed this on boxing day as i was visiting family...have only just managed to get online to see if i could watch songs of praise online.... I love the quality of these videos!! I think Hayley did very well with the 12days of Christmas song...it's a lot quicker than a lot of others she's sung...i remember singing it at school and getting awfully tongue-tied as everyone tried to sing it faster and faster haha still it was fun... Hayley's performance of Silent Night was amazing too...I played it to my dad and he says he thinks it's the best performance and interpretation of the song he's heard...so I've managed to convert him at last...normally he's not that impressed with Hayley...and I think the bonus is Silent Night is his favourite carol Thank u again best wishes- Happy New Year Sing
