I doubt Hayley will go unless "Winter Magic" is nominated for Album of the Year which could be unlikely given its short stay in the Top10. KtK may even use her acceptance speech to have another go at crossover singers. I can hear her now: "I'd like to accept this award on behalf of genuine sopranos and not those fakes." If Hayley doesn't go perhaps those of you close to the stage could hold up a banner saying: "No.1 singer in NZ and the world. Shame she's not here !" Well, I may visit the box office next week with some fake notes !

Whatever your thoughts are on Kiri, I have to say that her duet with Rhydian singing Benedictus is absolutely stunning. Their voices compliment each other beautifully. Considering Kiri's comments about singers coming out of certain types of show, the fact that she agreed to duet with Rhydian was a great honour for him. I do get a bit tired of the Kiri bashing on HWI, In a way she paved the way for Hayley in London. I still listen to Kiri's Maori songs album from time to time, What if the Kiri vs Hayley thing had been arranged to give them both free publicity ?

I, like you, feel that comparing artists (whoever they may be) gets a little tiresome. Everyone to their own in my view, if you don't like someone's singing, simply don't listen. I am really hoping that Kiri and Rhydian sing Benedictus at the Classical Brits. I think it will be up to Kiri if she wants to perform or not.... I wouldn't have thought that the Kiri vs Hayley thing was about publicity to be honest, but then, you never know!

There is no Hayley Vs. Kiri thing. Kiri said something about crossover artists, used Hayley as an example, and Hayley's fan base took it badly. There's nothing to the whole thing, really.

Hi Nicola, I think that's a little harsh on the fans because the press (as a body) interpreted it as Hayley being singled out for criticism e.g. ... and when the non-tabloid Press Association does that and their interpretation is carried by the World's press, it's not really surprising if the fans take the same line. But it's all over and done with now and I don't want this thread to turn into a re-hash of the 2008 events. We closed the main thread about this shortly after Stephany posted the following: All kissed and made up and that, as far as I'm concerned, is the end of it, which is something you and I seem to agree on. Cheers, Dave

I've just voted for Camilla Kerslake...It was a very tough choice for me though..when Hayley is nominated it's sooooo much easier lol ...I found it so hard to choose between Camilla, Blake, and Faryl Smith as I think they all deserve one for their respective albums. hopefully Hayley will be nominated and win an award next year....

Nah, they insist you go through a silly registration process before you can vote, and TBH I can't be bothered. I Hayley was there I might have done, and I must have voted last year. Did you have to register then? If so I have no recoed of it and have forgotten my password. I would have voted for Faryl.

Oooh... I may have to give my vote to Camilla... I wouldn't have guessed that she be nominated. Can we not vote twice?

Oh. Okay, I think I will give my vote to Rhydian then. He is more versatile and artistic. But would have liked to give my support to Camilla.

I'm with Martin D. Too many questions before they accept your vote. It's just a data collecting exercise so they can sell your details on to others. I would have voted for Camilla (and others on her facebook page didn't bother either) but I feel the result is a bit of a lottery and not winning never did Hayley's career any harm.

I found that voting was a little overly complicated. I almost didn't bother. I filled out whatever needed to be filled out (taking care about the box that says if we mind our details being passed on or not) but even getting to that page was going round in circles.
I assume they took so many details to avoid multiple votes from the same people.
