As mentioned in another thread, this year's Brits are to be held on Thursday 13th May at the Royal Albert Hall. Online booking is now available HERE. Please post any information relating to artists appearing etc in this thread. If we hear of any news involving Hayley in the awards (but unlikely) then the thread can be moved to a more relevant area. Martin

Hopefully Hayley will attend as it doesn't seem she'll have many other committments around that time.
I can feel another 'Dress Hayley for the Classical Brits' poll coming on! :rollin

Hello everyone I don't think I will be attending the awards ceremony this year unless we hear that Hayley will be taking part in some way. I will almost certainly come down for the photo-call though, which is always interesting and hopefully, Hayley will at least attend. We had a very nice chat with her last year! Best wishes Grant

Dazza Hi Dazza See you there, booked a "front row"(really a side view one due to lay out!" seat this morning. Classic fm announcing the nominees for "Album of the year" next Monday. Always a good show, at a reasonable price, and an opportunity to see to see the very best classical performers. cheers Tony

Hello folks! I doubt if Hayley will be nominated this year, but I'll definitely be going to the Classical Brit Awards. I'll probably book a seat in Block H early next week. See you there, Richard

Sorry Richard, but after what she said about Hayley I couldn't stomach paying good money to see Te Kanawa get an award let alone sing. In fact I wouldn't spend a penny on her if you see what I mean ! (Even if Camilla wins "Best Newcomer" which she certainly deserves to.)

There is no truth whatsoever in the rumour that Hayley wil be presenting the lifetime award to Dame Kiri! Martin

Martin HaHa Martin! I actually think that that would be a great idea - it would make Dame Kiri look very small indeed i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifBest wishes Grant

I don't think Kiri's comments were directed at Hayley as such (though she did use her as an example) but at the whole crossover pool. That they're "fake opera singers". She has a point when crossover singers make no attempt at correcting people when they say they are opera singers (KJ's current stint on Popstar to Operastar is a prime example), but ultimately, she missed the point a bit. I think it was blown out of proportion, but either way, Kiri strikes me as an aloof, arrogant and a snobbish type of person. Gathered from what I have read about her and people's personal experiences with her. I am not fond of Kiri, at all.
As to the awards; every year I promise myself that I'll go, and every year, I break it. This pattern has now officially been broken... because I'm not even promising myself that I'll go - I'm on holiday at the time of the event! Hope everyone has a great time!

Whatever your thoughts are on Kiri, I have to say that her duet with Rhydian singing Benedictus is absolutely stunning. Their voices compliment each other beautifully. Considering Kiri's comments about singers coming out of certain types of show, the fact that she agreed to duet with Rhydian was a great honour for him.
