Hi Dave, There WAS a new version of the RIANZ charts earlier this week - I checked it, because of my interest in Yulia. It didn't feature Hayley - but it had Yulia listed for a 17th week - down from 11 to ... 17 . I remember it clearly, because that American Idiot called Eminem was finally pushed down to number 2 (although I don't remember who provided that service). Ehh, and lease do check the RIANZ album chart at www.rianz.org.nz/rianz/chart.asp for reasons why I refer to Eminem as the American Idiot .... Strangely though, for some reason, RIANZ have reinstated the chart from January 3 . Gerrit

Hmmm Gerrit, mysterious goings-on in the NZ charts that never were... or were they? i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifIn the new UK Classical Artist chart, the top two are unchanged with Katherine Jenkins at 1 and Hayley at 2. Pure (original edition) drops from 7 to 15 (I can't believe it's still in there - it ought to be sold out everywhere by now!) To digress for a moment, I also can't believe that Elvis has got the 1,000th no. 1 in the UK singles chart!

Further to my previous message here about the RIANZ chart - if you you check the RIANZ site now (http://www.rianz.org.nz/rianz/chart.asp), there is a new update - and it is based, not on the chart from January 3, but on the chart from January 10. Yulia is back up from 17 to 11, now in her 18th week . No sign of Hayley though - but check the longevity of Brooke Fraser! 60 weeks on the chart, and still in the top 10!

Hehe, they put last week's "missing" chart back! No gaps this year then. Hayley got stuck on 56 weeks... but I was impressed by the longevity of Bic Runga's "Beautiful Collision" - it reached a magnificent 100 weeks on the album chart of 26th July 2004! Bic is 10x platinum too, only one behind Hayley (although I can't see either of them increasing more than one beyond that). Brooke is doing very well at 6X platinum, that's still fairly unusual, even for a former no. 1. Incidentally, Hayley almost caught Abba Gold, that reached 12x platinum last year. Beatles "1" is also around 12x platinum but I suspect the "record" may be held by Shania Twain's "Come on Over" at something like 17x platinum a few years ago. Norah Jones has had an 11 or 12x platinum, too. Hayley and Bic hold the record sales for a CD by a NZ artist. I like... Hayley, Yulia, Bic and Brooke. Oh, Abba, Shania and The Beatles too

New UK charts, out today: Pure (SE) drops from 2 to 3 in the Classical Artist chart. Top 3 (but it was *extremely* close between Hayley and Pavarotti last week) 1 (1) Katherine Jenkins - Second Nature. 2 (3) Pavarotti - Ti Adoro. 3 (2) Hayley.. Katherine is up again in the pop album chart, from 61 to 56 and next week is pretty certain to go even higher (Tsunami concert appearance). Oh... a bit off topic... but Elvis failed to make number 1 in the singles chart this week... only no. 2. His no. 1 from last week dropped 20 places - an all-time chart record drop from the top!

Did I read somewhere that Hayley's been over there recently? [/color] UK: Pure is down slightly in all charts, dropping out of the pop top 200. The original single CD version of Pure finally (?) dropped out of the UK Classic FM chart... perhaps this means that all the stocks (which are not being replenished) have at last been sold.

UK Charts update: In today's new classical artist chart, the top 4 are unchanged with Hayley at no. 3, but now, the Jenkins's are trying to take over the top 5 ! 1. Katherine Jenkins (Second Nature) 2. Pavarotti (Ti Adoro) 3. Hayley4. Karl Jenkins (The Armed Man - A Mass for Peace) 5. Katherine Jenkins -Premiere. Katherine has spectacularly leapt up the pop album chart from 56 to 28, the highest climber in the top 75 this week. She has even got ahead of the million-selling "Il Divo" who are down to 33 - so even if they had been allowed into the classical charts (they weren't), Katherine would have got back to the top of the classical charts. Well done to her... Tsunami Concert power Unusually, I have some accurate retail sales information this week - Second Nature sold about 9,000 copies last week. I think I'll copy this post into the KJI forum

New UK charts today: in the Classical Artist, Hayley holds steady at no. 6; Katherine Jenkins is no. 1 again, down from 49 to 64 in the pop chart.
The Classic FM chart isn't out until Friday but will be similar to last week with Hayley around no. 10/11 and Katherine almost certainly top.
