Hi Roger, Drew, Jeff, Belinda, I think by the end of this thread we will be inundated with a string of ropey puns! AA BB CC abd DD are bound to be the best seats in the house as they will be full of the HWI team!!!!! Stuart i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

I'll revive it even more by making a guess as to what she might sing. Since it's a classical event I think "Laudate Dominum" is a cert and probably "Ave Maria". I don't think we'll be hearing "What you never know" or "Both sides now."

Since Aled will be there surely there will be a "Walking in the Air" duet.

Hello again everybody! The seating plan wouldn't load this morning, but it did this afternoon. At the moment there are about 200 seats in the stalls still available for this concert, including two odd single seats in row B and one in row D. There are about another 140 seats still available in the gallery. Please get booking everybody! See you there, Richard

Hi Richard
I thought that this thread had gone a little quiet after the initial flurry of activity, so I am glad that you have revived it. I also looked at the Cadagan Hall site today to see if the full program has been announced yet - it seems not, it still says to be announced shortly. I will try to keep an eye on it and will post any further news - assuming you don't beat me to it of course. I was a little disappointed that you didnt include to number of days to go on your last post , I am relying on that !!
I do hope Hayley manages more than just a couple of songs but whatever, I am really looking forward to it.
Best wishes Mark.

Hello Mark! I didn't include the countdown in my last post because I made two posts on the same day. Never mind, that was yesterday, so I'm pleased to announce... 34 days to go! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifSee you there, Richard

Dave will be sitting in between you and I at Cadogan Hall, since I was the "mystery person" who bought the ticket for front stalls CC12... We'll drive poor Dave potty! I'm game for "Countdown" too! See you there! Andrew

Hello Andrew! I'm pleased you're coming to Cadogan Hall next month, but I think you should leave the countdown to me. You've quoted my post from yesterday today, so I'd better post a correction, because now there are only... 33 days to go! See you there, Richard

I think all HWI members should set a good example in the first part of the concert by not applauding between the 1st and 2nd movements of Beethoven's Emperor Concerto. I don't know how this stupid business started but I notice it has now become very prevalent at the Prom Concerts. The beginning of the slow movement of the Sibelius Violin Concerto was completely ruined the other night. The time to clap is at the end of a piece , not half-way through !

Well said, Jeff. To applaud between movements does seem to be on the increase which I find destroys my enjoyment of the work as a whole. I have even noticed some apparent embarrassment on the faces of the solo performers. They know they should politely acknowledge the applause yet doing so may appear to condone it. Then there are those audience members who know better. What should they do? Join in, knowing it is wrong or feel embarrassed by not applauding when everyone else is? Oh the trials of being a music lover! Roger

Jeff, you give us the signal to start the applause.
Roger, you give the signal for the standing ovation at the very end. (Just pull on the string.) Unless we all stand for Hayley's performance, just like the Il Divas.
