Hi Joe, Thanks for the link on that. I wonder if news can be gleaned from anywhere else about this. It looks very interesting. By the way. This venue is about 2 miles from the prison. Keith.

Hi Joe, By the way. This venue is about 2 miles from the prison. Keith. Is it? I am looking at the Street Atlas of London and it appears to be no more than 700 yards away. The venue is in Woodmans Mews, isn't it? I am looking at the possibility of going to this event but, at such short notice and only one day after Kenwood House, it may prove difficult. Que sera. Roger

Hi Roger, What the page is telling me is that the venue is the Wormwood Scrubs Pony Centre in Scrubs Lane. Wormwood Scrubs prison is in Du Cane Road, which is 1.9 miles away. So, if they turn the volume up a bit, the guests of Her Majesty could get some free entertainment. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifKeith.

Hi Keith. See this site: www.northlondonchorus.org.uk/pages/right.htmIt says the Pony Centre is in Woodmans Mews. That is just off Scrubs Lane (where it becomes Wood Lane). Only a school and a hospital in between it and the prison. Won't take me long to get home then! Roger

Hello folks! I saw the link this morning, so I've just paid a visit to the site to see if any tickets are available there. Unfortunately there was only a girl on site who knew nothing about it, and she told me to call again tomorrow when the boss will be there. There is a poster advertising the concert on the gate, but strangely it doesn't mention Hayley! The Pony Centre is near the south-eastern corner of Wormwood Scrubs Park, and is about 200 yards down a roadway leading from a car park in Scrubs Lane, nearly opposite North Pole Road. It is about 10 minutes walk from White City Station on the Central Line. I'm going to call there again tomorrow and I'll let you know what I find out. I'm not going to Kenwood House, but I hope to see some of you at Wormwood Scrubs on Sunday, so watch this space! Bye for now, Richard

Hi Guys, Thanks for the info regarding this event. Is anyone planning to go? Sounds like a good event, weird venue, but I suppose its the good cause that counts. Hey Richard, can you check if they do online credit card or over the phone bookings. Cheers. Here is a map of the area:- Emmett

Hey Richard, can you check if they do online credit card or over the phone bookings. Cheers. Here is a map of the area:- Hello Emmett! I will certainly be going if I can get a ticket. I'm going to call there again tomorrow, but if you click on the following link and scroll down the page, it gives a couple of telephone numbers for the Pony Centre, so you could phone them yourself:- www.northlondonchorus.org.uk/pages/right.htmIt also says tickets are available at the door, but my main concern is to make sure Hayley is definitely appearing, because she is not mentioned on a poster advertising the concert by the gates. Incidentally, the car park and the road leading to the Pony Centre are just to the north of Woodmans Mews, and are not shown on your map. I'll repeat the other link here:- www.concert-diary.com/home/concert_details.asp?id=49163&ref=13&back=trueI'll report back tomorrow. Richard

Hello again everybody! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifI'm not so upset about having to miss Hayley at Kenwood House on Saturday, because I've got my ticket to see her at Wormwood Scrubs Pony Centre on Sunday 10th July 2005. The event is called "Horses in Harmony - Opera Gala Concert", and features international opera stars Janis Kelly, Harry Nicoll, Malmfrid Sand and Geoffrey Dolton, with the North London Chorus conducted by Murray Hipkin from the English National Opera. Hayley will be a guest singer in the first half only. The concert is being held in a large barn with a capacity of about 500. There are no on-line credit card booking facilities, but there should be plenty of tickets available on the door. Tickets cost £10, £15 and £20, including wine and canapes. The concert is in aid of the Wormwood Scrubs Pony Centre, which provides pony club and riding facilities for children with special needs in the West London area, so they would appreciate all the support we can give them. Please note the correct address of the venue is:- Wormwood Scrubs Pony Centre, Scrubs Lane, London W12. As previously stated the Pony Centre is about 200 yards from Scrubs Lane down a road leading from a small car park adjacent to Woodmans Mews. The concert starts at 7pm and is due to finish at 10pm. Seating is unreserved, so get there early to be sure of a good seat. Only FIVE days to go! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifI hope to see some of you there, even though it's rather short notice. Many thanks to Joe for finding and posting the original information. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifBye for now, Richard i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

Thanks for the latest information, Richard. On my way to Kenwood House on Saturday, I may take a detour to the Pony Centre to see if I can get a ticket. If so, I'll see you there. Roger

Hello Roger! Whoops! I forgot to mention the telephone numbers when I made my earlier post. To save yourself the detour, you could ring the Pony Centre on 020 8740 0573, or mobile 07947 816721, and they will probably save a ticket for you. When I visited the centre this morning, the woman in charge asked me if I could spread the word. I don't think there has been much publicity for this event, so there will almost certainly be plenty of tickets available at the door on the night. Seating is unreserved, so try to get there well before 7pm to be sure of a good seat. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifSee you there, Richard

Hi Richard, I just got mine reserved. The dont do credit card booking but they will reserve a ticket for you and then just collect and pay on Sunday. They seemed surprise when they asked me where I found out about the event. Like Richard said I dont think people know about it. Probably with a charity like theirs its hard to afford big scale advertisement. Ricahrd, what seat did you go for??? I went for £20, just because of the free grub and wine....... i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifEmmett

Hello again Emmett! I've also bought a £20 ticket, to support the good cause. If we get there well before 7pm we should be able to get seats near the front! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifSee you on Sunday, Richard
