Yet more with Il Divo this summer? Peony (Sue) in the I.D. forum has reported the following here: Totally unconfirmed of course - but I thought it was worth mentioning, thanks to Sue. Cheers, Dave

Sheesh! All I can say is, I hope not. While I believe her tour with Il Divo has been greatly beneficial to her, I feel it is time for her to take a break and then move on to something else. Il Divo, however, seem to be commencing another major tour almost immediately. If she is supporting them at one of the venues, that raises the question about her involvement at all the others. Roger

I agree , It's time to recharge those Batterries 3 weeks holiday at home in NZ i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifI would have thought Hayley would have headed home after Toast NZ on the 15th July. If she sings at the concerts mentioned then theres not much of a break. She has to be back in the UK for the 6th August for the Gawsworth Hall Concert. Belinda

Hello folks! This sounds highly improbable to me too, because Hayley surely needs a break in July. I suggest we don't add this or the Liverpool date to the master schedule unless they are confirmed by Hayley's management. Best Wishes, Richard

Best Wishes, Richard Hi Richard, I tend to agree: that's why I didn't add them. I don't know what the degree of probability is and all I'd say is "unconfirmed" but if they are confirmed, we have ready made threads Cheers, Dave

Roger What concerns me is the holiday she was supposed to be having! But then, well, she's young, she's making hay while the sun shines and if you are doing what you enjoy, well, don't we all think working at what we want to do refreshing? As long as she is true to her own quoted awareness, of the need to pace herself. Peter

Hello everybody! As with the Liverpool Pops thread, I have removed the question mark from the title of this thread. So far there is only one mention of Hayley's performance on Il Divo's forum this morning. It is by Olga (SCUD Lover) who is also a member here, so I won't quote for the moment. Best Wishes, Richard

Hayley goes from strength to strength on the Summer Nights series.
Hayley appeared on stage for her sound check at 17:00 whilst the audience was restrained in the holding pens prior to the opening of the gates. She seemed to be having trouble getting things right and I was concerned that her voice might be suffering after so many concerts. But no, she was making sure that the sound system would work for the audience. She had been interested with my comments about the sound quality at Warwick when I spoke with her at Toast.
It was a muggy, cloudy evening with threats of thunderstorms. On time at 19:30, Hayley appeared in her delphinium blue dress and performed her regular Summer nights set comprising:
Pokarekare Ana Water is wide Ave Maria Scarborough Fair Bridal Ballad May it be In Trutina Hine e hine
Hayley was accompanied by Fiona Pears and Al Gurr. The sound system was perfect and Al's piano at last blended in without being overpowering. The Norfolk Il Divo fans behaved perfectly and Hayley was allowed to perform without disturbance and received excellent applause.
Not able to organise and transport a floral display like my Scottish namesake, I had decorated the front stage fence with a New Zealand flag. This gave rise to Hayley's comment: "I've just seen the New Zealand flag and that is making me feel homesick, I am looking forward to my fortnight off next month."
At the end of her performance I was tapped on the shoulder by a Maori. She had seen my flag and noticed how emotional I was during Pokarekare Ana and presumed that I must be a New Zealander. She had traveled from Oslo and was off to Derby (after Blickling) to see Hayley and Il Divo in the last concert. A small world. I was sorry that I was not joining her.
Interesting to note (following other comments elsewhere) that not many people knew who Il Divo's support act was going to be in advance. When hearing that it was Hayley Westenra, one of the audience made the comment "What is she doing as a support act, it should be the other way round."

Hi Drew,
Many thanks for your report. I don't think any other members attended this particular concert so it is good to hear your first hand views.
Glad you enjoyed the show.
