This event is now *allegedly* confirmed but does not appear on either of the official forums. From: icLiverpool.co.ukNew stars lend the Pops strong support Jun 2 2006By Catherine Jones Culture Reporter, Liverpool Echo SOME of Merseyside's best up-and-coming artists are providing strong support for this year's Summer Pops. And New Zealand classical starlet Hayley Westenra has also confirmed she will appear next month as special guest of fellow superstars of opera, Il Divo. Still only 18, she already has a host of platinum discs and has sung with many of the classical greats, including Andrea Bocelli, Jose Carreras and Bryn Terfel, as well as performing in front of the Queen and Tony Blair. There are only a few tickets remaining for the show on July 21. Roger

Hello everybody! I've removed the question mark from the title of this thread, because we now have proof that Hayley took part in this concert, thanks to Il Divo's forum. Leo wrote:- Richard

At long last they are treating Hayley properly--keeping people from waltsing into the auditorium while she is singing. Why does it take so long to get basic courtesies extended to: 1. simply a lovely girl anyway 2. a girl who is the epitome of courtesy and good manners herself.
Is it possible that our raising these matters and complaining about Il Divo's 'staff's' behaviour are read, passed on and are beginning to have an effect?

Yes Peter, About time the tide turned. Excellent!! Good to read, particularly since I just posted an Edinburgh Castle poster which made no mention of her. Graeme Dave, your discussing hayley again link has shifted. Graeme

Hi Peter,
I'm glad the correct protocol was used by the venue staff at the Liverpool pops concert, with fewer interruptions from late arrivals. I wonder if it's because Hayley had more support this time, perhaps there was an orchestra sharing the bill with her and Il Divo?
However, I have to say that at Cardiff Castle, which was set up similar to the Il Divo World tour concerts in a massive (but outdoor) arena, the staff also made some efforts to hold back late arrivals at the sides... until Hayley's breaks between songs. Perhaps Hayley's presence and the protests from fans of her *and* I.D. is indeed (finally) having an effect on the way these concerts are organised!
Graeme, I'm afraid it's not very practical to keep chasing Il Divo forum links as there, the mods seem to delete posts fairly regularly and this changes the links. But I've altered it to link to their main forum index page.
Cheers, Dave

There is another mention of Hayley's performance on Il Divo's forum, signed by three ladies. Anita, Sandra and Jolande from the Netherlands wrote:- Richard

And not one of these professional shots were any better, arguably as good(?) as our supposed 'amateur' chaps on HWI!!

Excellent news. Respect at last. Hopefully this will not be a problem in future as we expect her to be in the lead role rather than the support act.
Richard, please make sure that all the audience is sitting down before she appears on BBC1 at 10:50.
