Hi all,
Yesterday at Berlin ICC there were postcards distributed with some information about Hayley’s performances next months in Germany. Hayley will perform as star guest at WORLD FOOTBALL CONCERTS: 04. June Munich, 11. June Stuttgart, 15. June Frankfurt/Main, 16. June Kaiserslautern, 2. July Berlin. +++ and Hayley-solo tour in October in Germany.

Hi Lothar,
Unfortunately, we are not able to confirm the dates at the moment because the news you gave us last night is the first we have heard of it.
I have to say, I find some of the dates surprising. The information given out in Berlin stated that Hayley would appear in Munich on 4 June but the first match of the World Cup isn't until five days later. There are matches on 11th, but not in Stuttgart, the ones on 15th are not in Frankfurt, and the ones on 16th are not in Kaiserslautern! Also, there is no match at all on 2nd July so I am mystified. Or are these concerts entirely separate events to be held in conjunction with the World Cup and not appearances at the stadiums prior to the matches?
Any clues, anyone?

hi Roger, if you ask me... I think the Kultur-Programm in Germany is not entirely for the english Hooligans (sorry my drunken friends)... but for visitors from Japan, Italy, Spain etc. and mostly NOT on the World Cup Dates !!!

the WORLD FOOTBALL CONCERTS have nothing to do with the football games by itself. It is a cultural program in concert halls etc., not an opening ceremony at the beginning of any game or during the break of a game.

If Hayley's in Munich on 4th June, then Cadogan Hall 6th June then Huddersfield 10th June...? Well, I suppose on a plane (and from Birmingham?) its not much more hassle than London to Glasgow... Lady, I sure do take my hat off. And if this does mean a series of concerts in Germany, well, last fall we really did have a super time with Hayley in the UK, we cannot complain but wish you all well. This reminds me that one of the songs dropped between the old Odyssey and the UK version is Wiegenlied which I adore and I wish she would sing more German. I did suggest she looked at Schubert's lieder. I thought her German sounded delightfully soft and encouraging. Lothar, what are your views and is it possible she would sing in German? What German would you suggest for her and would you support the thought for Schubert? Do you like her German delivery? Peter |
