Thanks Peter, You've just expressed what many of us feel & are convinced of & are not game enough to let go!!! You brought tears to my eyes.
A few days ago I listened to Aled Jones interviewing Hayley just before the Welsh National Anthem do. When he asked her who had been her favourite duetting partner, she paused & naturally being 'All Heart Hayley' said:'You are Aled' followed by her delightful laugh. His response? 'You're a darling.' And, of course, she is, isn't she? !!!! Graemek

You make me feel glad i dropped in quickly before packing everything up to head for Huddersfield. I hope my report from there in a few hours time will be up to standard! There is great competition here, with so many talented people, to keep up standards! Peter

Thank you Rodders.
It was very difficult to decide whether I was doing the right thing or not but I was angling at overseas people to try and give them a greater sense of belonging. I feel very grateful for the opportunity we have here. We do see Hayley so often compared with everywhere else and if in some way we can help to make that sharing more meaningful, then that is great.
Thank you for reassuring me I was doing the right thing.
Peter

Hi All, I just fell over this by accident:It was news to me but that doesn't mean I'm not the last one to know who she is!!...Graemek READ ON: BBC News: Last Updated: Wednesday, 2 July, 2003, 11:59 GMT 12:59 UK Paige joins Faenol line-up Elaine Paige is appearing at the Faenol festival in August West End musical theatre star Elaine Paige has been revealed as the final "missing piece" in this year's Faenol Festival jigsaw. Paige, famous for her role in the long-running musical "Cats", joins Spanish opera star Jose Carreras as a major attraction in next month's festival on the north Wales country estate.
Faenol, now in its fourth year, is the brainchild of Welsh baritone Bryn Terfel, who was eager to bring musical giants to Gwynedd, where he grew up.
"I'm so pleased that Elaine has agreed to come to Faenol this year.," said Terfel.
"To be able to feature international artists of the calibre of José Carreras and Elaine Paige each year is a true recognition of our growing status on the international festival circuit.
Paige will star at the "Music Under The Stars" evening which opens the festival on 23 August, Bank Holiday Saturday.
Festival founder Bryn Terfel
The star will perform with Terfel and other West End stars, Sally Ann Triplett, Simon Bowman and James Graeme performing an evening of showstoppers from many of the world's favourite musicals.
In an almost unrivalled setting at the foot of Snowdon, the Faenol has developed an established presence among the timetable of summer events in Wales.
More than 20,000 visitors are expected, with concertgoers bringing picnics to extend their time and each evening ends with a fireworks display.
In 2001 the Faenol received the accolade of "The Greatest Show in Wales" at the Welsh Tourism Awards.
Terfel has already rearranged the programme to accommodate José Carreras on the festival's Opera Night on Sunday.
The concert will introduce Hayley Westenra from New Zealand, already a stage veteran at 16.
The third Dragon's Fire night of the festival will feature Welsh rock bands.
Last year, former soap stars Martine McCutcheon and Claire Sweeney starred at the concert.

Hello Graeme! Thank you for the article, but in case anybody doesn't realise, I should point out that this event happened in August 2003, nearly three years ago! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifTo get back to Cadogan Hall, have a close look at all the photographs of Hayley. I've just realised that there was something slightly different about her. Have a look at the pictures in the Wisley thread for comparison. (Clue: Hayley's got a lot more than me, and so has Roger!) Best Wishes from London, Richard

Hi Richard, I just emphasized that Paige date.
Re Hayley's hair(?) all I can see is that her hair is styled with a wave over the left eye in the Cad. Hall ones.
The colour of course looks different according to the lighting.
It hasn't been slightly shortened in the Wisley shots has it??
I know also she's had several goes at relocating the parting this year.
That's about it....enjoy Huddersfield....Graemek
(realising of course that you can't get better than best)
PS. I just asked my wife re the hair & she says: Cadogan Hall was a red carpet event so she had her hair styled mostly forward around her face with the wave over the left eye.
Wisley was sort of casual so she did her hair herself allowing a fair amount to flow over her back.

Hello again Graeme! You've more or less spotted the difference, so you've won the prize of an empty Mars bar wrapper. At Cadogan Hall, Hayley had her parting well over towards her right side, but she usually has it towards her left side, as at Wisley. That made you look closely! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifBest Wishes from London, Richard

Hi All Here are some more shots from Cadogan Hall Hayley arrives in that dress looking ....supernatural! The familiar press photos... Two nice pictures of Hayley during the performance. Ian Tilley and Fiona Pears meet us after the concert. These two looked shifty! We had them "moved on"! Hayley emerges to meet us ...and poses for us before the after-show party. A few reminders of a really great night! Stuart

Hi Steve, I'll tell you what... You've more than shown that professional photographer a thing or two when it comes to taking a shot like that! "Not 'alf" (as a certain DJ Mr. Alan "Fluff" Freeman would say...) Needless to say I much prefer your photo! Incidentally I wonder who the lady in the background of the photos are? Did you manage to accomplish who she was Steve? It's lovely to see Ian and Fiona again in the other photo too! I am quite stunned by Hayley's beauty which you and Stuart have really captured in your outstanding photographs! "Promo Buddy" you really are onto a winner... Andrew
