Uh oh... hope Hayley's not suffering from burnout (crosses fingers).

Hopefully Hayley's voice doesn't getting too much strain with the hectic schedule of the Il Divo tour. It's a good idea for her to get some rest, especially after the 3 concerts in Ottawa this weekend.

I know touring is rough on a singer and exhaustion is always a consequence of overdoing it, but I doubt that's the problem with this cancellation.
It was most likely a business decision based on disappointing ticket sales. As many journalists have pointed out, Hayley is not exactly a household name in the States. Her warmup set for Il Divo has started a minor buzz but probably too little/too late to sell out the Oven.
Could also be she was offered something more career beneficial, like a singing part in a movie or TV show. Who really knows? But at least consider that there are many excellent reasons for cancelling or - more likely in this case -- postponing a non-essential gig.

I've contacted the venue for absolute confirmation on this. Yeah, I figured it would be confirmed though I was hoping it wouldn't. I feel sorry for the Charlotte-area fans who won't get to see Hayley as they had hoped. Hayley in concert is brilliant beyond belief. She'll be around for a long time, so there's no real pressure to 'catch her while the catching's good.'

I've contacted the venue for absolute confirmation on this. Unfortunately, here it is... Thank you for your question concerning the scheduled concert with Hayley Westerna. This concert was cancelled by the Charlotte Symphony. They are handling all refunds, and any inquiries should be directed to them at 704-972-2000. Regards, Rick Basdeo

My dad and I are both terribly disappointed. We were both looking forward to it so much! And it was just around the corner. It makes me feel a little bit better that it was the venue that cancelled and not Hayley. Maybe Hayley will come back this summer.

I don't know what to say. Cathleen I am so sorry. As I'm sure Cathleen remembers only too well, we heard this concert was cancelled several weeks ago. It was then reinstated! Now, it is off again. Just last week, there was a competition held for which the prizes were tickets for this very concert and, interestingly, it STILL appears on the Official site. HWI has not received any notification of this cancellation - not that it is in any doubt. We go to great lengths at times to confirm that information is correct, as was the case for this concert. Now this happens. I sometimes wonder why we bother. Roger
