Hi to all Hayley fans that my sister and I met at Kenwood. It was a gorgeous summer evening in a beautiful location. A natural amphitheatre sweeping down to a lake, opposite was the stage. We had "luxury deck-chairs",mine collapsed and had to be replaced!
The Royal philharmonic orchestra seemed to be the main attraction as Hayley only had six songs and there was no encore. But when she sang it was spellbinding. Haley wore a green, low-cut, midi ,Grecian gown for the first half. She opened with "Pokare Kare Ana"( Vocalese version). Then "Hine Hine" and "Ave Maria"(Schubert version)
Hayley wore a white and red "sparkly" dress for the second half, I think it was the same one she wore at the end of the Cardiff concert, last November. Hayley treated us to "River Of Dreams". The next song was one I had not heard from her before. It was "O Mia Bambina Caro" form Puccini's La Boheme. The Conductor of the orchestra remarked that it was excellent rendition for one so young. The final song was my personal favourite Enya's "May It Be" from Lord Of The Rings.
The other fans set off to see if they could meet Hayley after the concert. Sadly with all the uncertainty about transport in London we had to leave quickly to catch our connection back to central London.
What a wonderful evening and a fantastic firework finale.

Hello Tony, It was good to meet you on Saturday. A lot of people were talking about Hayley's rendition of 'O Mio Babbino Caro' and I am sure we will hear her sing it again someday. Yes, it was the same dress as the one she wore at Cardiff but we won't tell anyone that we noticed, eh? If you spot us at future events, Tony, do come and say hello. Roger
