Graceless and does discredit to herself...unlike our Hayley. The "for not a small fee" is illuminating about someone isn't it? Where there's hard cash involved, principles and opinions can easily be forgotten - sheer hypocrisy.

Wow, that's an interesting article. I had no idea that Katherine Jenkins would be catogorized as 'popera'. I thought she was very much opera herself. I really think Kiri did not think about what she said before she said it. She's really gotten herself in a deep mess, and I have no idea how she's going to get herself out of it.

Hello Dori! I wasn't going to make any further comment, but personally I don't care if Dame Kiri doesn't ever get out of the mess she's created for herself. Her reputation is damaged for good now. Richard

What is interesting in your 208 post, James, is the simple acknowledgment that we all know AND DAME KIRI HERSELF KNOWS MORE THAN MOST is that voice development is a maturing process which MUST NOT be forced if the voice is to attain its greatest potential.
Were the Dame in her right mind and moderately competent in her art (for her outburst raises serious questions on the presumed fact of both) what she would have done is to COMPLIMENT Hayley on the patience with which she works with her voice and its natural development and WAITS for the moment when 'THE VOICE' is ready.
THAT is PROFESSIONALISM!!!!!

Richard Oh without question of doubt, Richard. All that she has achieved has simply gone down the pan as a result of that ridiculous outburst and still no one can fathom out what the heck she was talking about, let alone why! Peter S.

Of course she does Peter! This was almost certainly a case of the dame being incensed at the thought that any mere mortal would want to watch any other mere mortal perform whilst SHE was in town and they had the opportunity to watch her. Well who would want to go see some pretty young thing at a winery? We all know the answer to that one don't we!!? Best wishes Grant

Hello everyone! Great news! 'One' of my editorial pieces ( ) was published in the Sunday Star Times!! Check it out: They did edit it a bit, but I'm happy with what was published. I'm also really excited, because this is yet another publication for me, and as a writer, it's a great piece for my repatoir. Dori Note: I reduced the image slightly to fit the page...Joe

I saw your letter, Dori, very well written. There have been a lot of letters lately in the Sunday papers as well as the Christchurch press. In todays Sunday Star Times there was also the following article supporting Kiri.

Yes Ross, I read that article and found it quite contradictory to Hayley, as it criticized her and then said she sold 3.5 million albums world wide. Who the heck writes this stuff?? Poor Will and Elizabeth - I pity them for getting in the middle of something that they probably don't want to even think about, let alone be a part of. It's so unfair. I think Hayley's family might feel really good about her being in the UK at the moment to be away from all this rediculousness. It's really shocking what a hot topic it has become - in all the possible negative ways, because it's made people question Hayley. No one should ever question Hayley's ability or talent. This is what happens. Dori

Hello Dori! I recognised Elizabeth Marvelly in that photograph too. She's holding her microphone in the wrong hand! Richard

Hello Richard, I think the photo might be flipped, but, does it matter which hand you hold your microphone it?? I can see everyone is holding it in their left hand here, and I know Hayley always holds hers in her left, but was there a genral rule about it?? Dori

Hi Ross, interesting article and although as you say it supports Dame Kiri I feel Hayley comes out of it reasonably unscathed. HWI members have said recently the have seen a more mature performance from Hayley (post Shepherds Bush ?) and the writer says much the same. i.e They seem to appreciate that any comparison between Dame Kiri and 'young singers' is unfair. Unfortunately the other comparisons to Elizabeth and Will do not hold up as well, but then again they are doing rather well in NZ !

Are these not the same photo' reversed ? I think the photo might be flipped, Hi, My quote was about two Hayley Demo CD's covers and Dori's is from a newspaper article. Are they mistakes, or are they intended, and if so why ? Graham
