Hi Dori,
Stephany bet you to it by a day,
There's a video of Hayley aged 7 singing Michael Jackson's 'Ben' on Youtube and it's interesting to compare her voice with Connie's at a similar age. Hayley is so cute when she says her last name
Stephany
its in the Connie Talbot thread and also on Connies own forum.
She sounded great back then didn't she.

Hi Dori and Belinda, This is such a little gem that it is as well to have it here on the Media board as well. Do we know if this is the earliest known video of Hayley? I imagine it could be. Roger

A sheer delight although the video operator needed a bit more practice. I wonder who got first place? Martin

I wonder who got first place? Hi Martin, The winners were two girls singing "Lipstick on your collar". Stephany

Yeah, and were are those two girls right now? Dori Who knows? Possibly getting lipstick on someone's collar even as we speak However, it might bear noting that contests like this one occur all the time - and I would be amazed if more than 1 in 10,000 such winners go on to have professional entertainment careers. "Ben" is a cute enough video I suppose. But I would be lying if I said there was anything there to suggest to me that Hayley's voice would go on to develop as it did. (I think that possibly comparing this and her "Lullaby of Broadway" a year or so later might provide a hint that she was developing - but not more than that) I hope that Hayley isnt too embarrased by this.... Jon

Hi everyone! That video is absolutely precious... what a great find! I agree with the other posters who mentioned how different Hayley's voice when she was 7 ... makes you think of how much more it will grow in the next dozen years!! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifOksy

Jon I completely agree with you Jon. I have a friend who is an opera singer, and she told me that everyone is born pitch-perfect, but it's whether or not they choose to develop it from a very young age or not. I think here Hayley is showing her ability as a performer, as oppose to a singer. Having said that, however, I haven't seen The Littlest Star, and that could have been as amazing as Connie's performance of Over the Rainbow, and if that's the case, then she definitely showed her pitch-perfectness from the start. However, i can't express how much i've enjoyed watching that video. I hope someone posts The Littlest Star on YouTube soon! Dori
