Hi there....I'm James and I hail from Minnesota in the Twin Cities area. Like many others, I became acquainted with Hayley through Celtic Woman. I absolutely enjoy Hayley's amazing voice. I own the LFNZ DVD, the "Paridiso" and"River of Dreams" cds. I work in the postal automation business through Pitney Bowes. I enjoy posting in Celtic Woman related forums, playing Buzztime Trivia and,of course, listening to Hayley and other CW alums. I look forward to meeting some of you and sharing experiences.

Hello Jacques, and welcome to the forum! I'm sure Hayley's performance on Songs of Praise made a welcome change from the endless coverage of the Olympic Games. Best wishes from London, Richard

Thanks all for the receptions! My English is not so good, I hope I can read your messages and that you understand my message. I have since a few months make knowledge with Hayley on TV, and therefore on YouTube. I was inspired her voice, what a very beautiful vocalise's! There is one thing lesser, in my opinion be missing the articulation of consonants. Are there more peoples with this meaning?

There is one thing lesser, in my opinion be missing the articulation of consonants. Are there more peoples with this meaning? Hello jacques43, Welcome aboard HW!. In response to your question as to whether others have remarked about Hayley's "missing the articulation of consonants", the answer is YES. In addition to missing consonants, you can see all sorts of criticisms of her singing on her Youtube videos such as not breathing correctly, singing without feeling, singing too fast or too slowly, etc. Many criticisms are offered by people with good intentions hoping to improve her deliveries more to their liking. Knowing next to nothing about music, such imperfections do not make me flinch, but go right over my head. To my ears, I just hear a very uniquely pleasant sound like no other. With considerable success, she has been singing long enough the world over to be aware of what she is doing. As her mentor, Dame Malvina Major, advised her, "Don't try to be something that someone expects you to be. Just be yourself." So, let Hayley be Hayley. Take her, or leave her, is my philosophy. Kindest regards, BobS

Take her, or leave her, is my philosophy. Kindest regards, BobS Dear BobS, Thank you for the quick response! I understand the story! To begin with the latter: Sure, take her as she is, or would not take her! But in my 68 years I've sung a lot and practiced. And now I see and hear a young woman with such a beautiful vocal, and I think: What a pity now that of consonants. But a young woman has yet much time for (small) improvements without forcing it! Now it may still, I sing no longer. My expectation is that this will actually happen. Of course there are other things to note, as too slow or too fast. But that's not what I mean! That would also be directly executed differently, that's just a matter of taste! Hayley sings certainly not without feeling, and her breath has she quite under control! But with those consonants there would be so complete! It would be so much added value! It is a pity as that are not merged. But again, I expect there are improvements! I just want to encourage. Other criticisms have offered perhaps good intentions, but I find mine a bit more seriously, also seen from my training! I wish her much success! The cordial greetings, also to Hayley! Jacques P.S.
