In memory of a wonderful and much loved Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and The Commonwealth: Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
As 'the boss', she is all I can ever remember, and I go back to the days when she was but a Princess over 70 years ago. But now, she's gone: something that as one of her subjects, it's pretty hard for me to get my head around. Queen Elizabeth II, may you rest in peace.
I will end by adding a video of the official announcement of her death on BBC Television, should anyone who missed this wish to see it. It starts a few seconds before the initial announcement was made (by Huw Edwards at 6:30pm local, 8th. September) and includes some short film clips of her life. BBC then combined all their channels to make their formal announcement simultaneously at 3:00 in the video.

loyal monarch to the end. we love you..

Hello Dave,
I associate myself with your words of condolence for HM the late Queen Elizabeth II. On that sad day of the Queen’s passing, Dave, you and I exchanged messages, which were comforting to us both.
It’s no secret that I’ve always held the UK and her people with sincere affection. British TV, notably documentaries and comedies, were a staple throughout my life. At school I can remember learning about the Queen’s children and grand-children, especially the births of Princes William and Harry. In the early 90’s I was introduced to the C-SPAN channel here in America, which aired the weekly Prime Minister’s Question Time in the House of Commons, and the yearly State Opening of Parliament as well as Trooping The Colour, with the latter two showing the Queen at her most regal. Also, the “swingometer” for general elections!
I am proud to own a brochure of Windsor Castle initially from their gift-shop. but bought by me at a local library sale, as well as the official order of service booklet from the marriage of “William and Kate” (now TRH The Prince and Princess of Wales). I do have a trading card set from that event, one from the recent marriage of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, and a “tabloid” trading card set featuring The Royal Family from the 1980’s.
One cannot quickly forget, during the 2012 Olympic Summer Games in London, where the Queen appeared to have jumped out of a helicopter with James Bond! Recently, though, during afternoon tea with Paddington Bear, we learned that the Queen kept a marmalade sandwich in her handbag!
HM The Queen had been in declining health since the death of her beloved husband Prince Philip. Her Platinum Jubilee celebrations up and down the UK this past summer were somewhat muted from her mobility issues.
Most of the news channels and the major TV networks in the US covered most of the Queen’s funeral and related events. I relied on Sky News’ streaming services the last two weeks, and enjoyed watching both The Telegraph and BBC1’s YouTube channels for nearly ten hours of last Monday’s funeral and committal ceremonies. To the British and Commonwealth members here, I have kept you in my thoughts
I will close with this. Thank you, Your Majesty, for your extraordinary duty and unwavering service. You are now reunited with your parents HM King George Vi and HM Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, beloved sister Princess Margaret Rose and husband Prince Philip. Rest easy, Ma’am. God Bless the King.
