In Germany there are few radio stations where it is possible to send greetings to relatives or friends and to ask for a piece of music. Our local radio station (Hessischer Rundfunk HR 4) broadcasts from Monday to Friday at 1 p.m. for one hour listener requests. You can send your request by e-mail (Ihr Musikwunsch per E-Mail) www.hr4.de/musik/wir-spielen-ihre-lieblingsmusik,wuensch_dir_was-100.html For next Wednesday I requested Pokarekare Ana. Since I do not know how many requests the radio station will receive it is not sure if this song will really be braodcasted. I will keep an eye on it. HR 4 usually broadcasts Deutsche Schlager (german schlager ) and popular english songs. Below one can see which titles are played in the last 14 days. www.hr4.de/musik/titelliste/index.htmlLets hope the best. Bernd

Hi Joakim, Most of us stopped asking UK stations to play Hayley's music many years ago because even when she was most popular, few if any would play them here and in recent years, it is rare. In Ireland, things are better and our member 'Comet' does succeed in this from time to time so if he reads this, may be able to offer some advice. If there is a radio station in Sweden that plays Hayley's kind of classical crossover music, you may be able to persuade them to play some of her songs, I hope so. Cheers, Dave When it comes to radio requests, make it easy for them, be polite, ask them to play a Hayley song of their own choice, then you will start to get to know what they do have and what they are prepared to play. Don't be disheartened if there is no initial result, keep sending the e-mails, they will see the requests coming in and subconsciously the name will be in their mind. I only get a 1 in 10 positive result. I only send maybe one request a week to the programmes I think have an inclination to play that sort of music anyway. Certain Hayley songs may suit certain types of programme. When the rugby is in the news I will ask for World in Union. Christmas songs at the appropriate time of year etc.
