Hi Joakim,
Welcome, it's good to see you. Hayley is very low key these days and I am wondering how you found us, and what prompted you to join, if you don't mind me asking?
There's plenty of good historical information about Hayley's career in here for you to browse, and on our website too. I am sure that if you have any questions, one of us will soon be along to provide the answers. I hope you will enjoy your visits here.
I am in England by the way, we are quite an international bunch!
Best wishes
Dave

Hi Dave! Hey, Joe! Thanks for the invitation to the forum, I'm a very old fan who has been always the quietest follower, who is not motivated to monitor people via Facebok or other social media. The reason for registration to HWI is Hayley's upcoming birthday. Since it has become so quiet about Hayley I think the real fans need to show permanent homage and respect. I wanted to show that Hayley has so much more fans than those who post on social media; we are in the world and one word from Hayley and we do as she wants! You as administrators seem to have more familiarity with Hayley and perhaps a little more knowledge of her wishes? Hayley has given us so much - but my question is: What can we as loyal followers do for our Queen? But I would note that we who love Hayley should be very sensitive and tactful and approve of her withdrawal.
Unfortunately my English is very poor so I apologize that the reply came a little late, my computer sometimes has to help me for translation
Best regards, Joakim Hayley's fan in Sweden

Hello Joakim I think the best thing we can do for Hayley is to simply keep listening to her music! Also to watch and share her YouTube videos! With best wishes from the USA, Joe.

Hey, Joe, thanks for a great tip. OK, I need to learn something about Copyright law, that I'm not stepping on anyone's toes. Many greetings, Joakim

Hi Joakim, I am sure that Joe simply means to let others know about Hayley videos on Youtube by using their normal 'sharing' tools. There are no copyright issues with that, especially these days when Youtube have arrangements with record companies and others so they, and the artists, can earn money from uploaded videos. Youtube check for that automatically and mark them accordingly (in the past, many were removed for copyright reasons, but that is unusual these days). As for what WE can do on Youtube, well... watch this space. Dave

Hi Joakim,
welcome to the forum. Although Hayley Westenra is hardly known in the German-speaking countries, there are also some Germans here in the forum. For myself I am living in the Rhein-Main area and joinded the forum last September. BTW (by the way - übrigens): is Joakim the scandinavian form of the german first name Joachim?

Hi again Joakim,
Just a quick word to say that we do need to restrict posts in the HWI forum to the English language, mainly because otherwise, it would be difficult to moderate. On this occasion, I have added the google translation to your last post, I hope it's accurate and that you don't mind!

Hi Dave, thanks for the information. Have I understood correctly that I can copy her songs in my YT channel? And put a link to her channel to spread it. Maybe we can write to radio stations inviting to request music programs to ask them to play her songs. But that will only work if more people do it, often and repeatedly. Do you know if this variation will have a positive effect? I certainly want to try it in Sweden and Germany.
Many greetings, Joakim

Hi Joakim, Copying her songs from other youtube channels and uploading them onto your own channel would be wrong. The way to spread the word is to post links to those songs using their "share" tools. How to do that is explained here by Youtube: support.google.com/youtube/answer/57741?hl=en-GB&co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktopMost of us stopped asking UK stations to play Hayley's music many years ago because even when she was most popular, few if any would play them here and in recent years, it is rare. In Ireland, things are better and our member 'Comet' does succeed in this from time to time so if he reads this, may be able to offer some advice. If there is a radio station in Sweden that plays Hayley's kind of classical crossover music, you may be able to persuade them to play some of her songs, I hope so. Cheers, Dave
