Thanks for the invitation to the forum, I'm a very old fan who has been always the quietest follower, who is not motivated to monitor people via Facebok or other social media.
The reason for registration to HWI is Hayley's upcoming birthday. Since it has become so quiet about Hayley I think the real fans need to show permanent homage and respect.
I wanted to show that Hayley has so much more fans than those who post on social media; we are in the world and one word from Hayley and we do as she wants!
You as administrators seem to have more familiarity with Hayley and perhaps a little more knowledge of her wishes?
Hayley has given us so much - but my question is: What can we as loyal followers do for our Queen?
But I would note that we who love Hayley should be very sensitive and tactful and approve of her withdrawal.

Hi Joakim,

I am sure that Joe simply means to let others know about Hayley videos on Youtube by using their normal 'sharing' tools. There are no copyright issues with that, especially these days when Youtube have arrangements with record companies and others so they, and the artists, can earn money from uploaded videos. Youtube check for that automatically and mark them accordingly (in the past, many were removed for copyright reasons, but that is unusual these days).

As for what WE can do on Youtube, well... watch this space.

Copyright issues?  Perhaps you do not understand me. If you use social media, you can share Hayley’s videos there via the procedures that Dave outlined.

welcome to the forum. Although Hayley Westenra is hardly known in the German-speaking countries, there are also some Germans here in the forum. For myself I am living in the Rhein-Main area and joinded the forum last September.

Richtig vermutet ist die Schreibweise meines Namens an das Skandinavische angepasst, durch eine Reform der schwedischen Sprache zu Beginn des 20.Jahrhundert. Den ch-Laut gibt es nicht im Schwedischen, es wird (fast) alles so gesprochen, wie geschrieben... (mein deutcher PA benennt mich auch mit ...ch... , ich hab mich angepasst)
Ja, leider ist Hayley in DE kaum bekannt. Man schaut dort sehr auffällig einseitig nach USA. Ich habe Hayley 2006 bei YT zufällig gefunden und war sofort gefesselt von ihrer Stimme. In Kopenhagen konnte ich sie bei einem Livekonzert erleben. Wir haben zum Glueck ihre CDs und DVDs und ihren YT-Kanal. Wenn ich sie heute sehe bei YT befällt mich neben der Freude leider auch eine bedrueckte Stimmung. Hätten wir, als ihre Fans, sie beschuetzen muessen?? Sie ist so sensibel... Aber wie sollte das gehen?

Yes, unfortunately Hayley is hardly known in DE. One looks there very conspicuously one-sidedly to the USA. I found Hayley by accident on YT in 2006 and was immediately captivated by her voice. In Copenhagen I was able to experience them at a live concert. Luckily we have their CDs and DVDs and their YT channel. When I see her on YT today, I'm sadly overcome not only with joy but also with a depressed mood. Should we, as their fans, have protected them?? She's so sensitive... But how is that supposed to work?

Hi Joakim,

Copying her songs from other youtube channels and uploading them onto your own channel would be wrong. The way to spread the word is to post links to those songs using their "share" tools. How to do that is explained here by Youtube: support.google.com/youtube/answer/57741?hl=en-GB&co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop

Most of us stopped asking UK stations to play Hayley's music many years ago because even when she was most popular, few if any would play them here and in recent years, it is rare. In Ireland, things are better and our member 'Comet' does succeed in this from time to time so if he reads this, may be able to offer some advice.

If there is a radio station in Sweden that plays Hayley's kind of classical crossover music, you may be able to persuade them to play some of her songs, I hope so.
