One of the few benefits of the lockdown is that it has given me the time to listen to other types of music, in particular choral music. I picked up on an English choral group via youtube named Voces8 (pronounced VOCHES8) and was blown away by the quality and purity of their singing. The top soprano Andrea Haines has the best voice I have ever heard (outside Opera) and I can recommend as a starter their rendition of “The Water is Wide” and also “Lux Aeterna” (Nimrod).

Ah yes and here they are with guest sean nos singer Sibéal, sean nos is an old traditional Irish style of singing, a bit of an acquired taste. They make it look so effortless.

Yes Paul, I hesitated to recommend that one as well since Sibeal is a guest singer on this wonderful interpretation of Carrickfergus (which was also recorded by Celtic Woman).

I enjoyed that! Reminds me of Anuna; I have several of their CDs. Even saw Anuna live once, on one of their rare visits to the UK. I thought they were brilliant, but the three people with me were not so impressed. So you are probably right Comet, an acquired taste.
