Dear friends, Sorry to learn that Peter Such had passed away around mid-February. Peter was a dedicated supporter of Hayley and attended many of her concerts over the years. His great work and time spent on this Forum is noted, having been with HWI for close to fifteen years and had written over 4800 posts. One of Peter's opening posts here... hwi.proboards.com/thread/82/new-saying-hi , reflects the kindness and the spirit of good friendship that we all enjoyed! He was a wonderful friend to me; a gem of a chap. I ask you please to reply with a thought or two. If you have any photos of Peter greeting Hayley, or a pic of him with your good self from one of HWI's grand get-togethers, please share. I would like to pass them along to the family. Peter's personal Facebook page is receiving some lovely tributes from his family and friends. I am about to add mine.

Hi Joe and fellow forum members, I am saddened to hear of the passing of our long time friend and HWI member, we met on several occasions at Hayley's concerts in the UK and Ireland. Peter was always quietly good humored, he liked to stand back from the queue of fans at Hayley's after concert signings and simply observe the fans meeting her, it was his pleasure to just watch the joy that Hayley brought to others.
I will try and add links to threads that have pictures of Peter below, he never sought out the photo opportunity, preferring to sit back and watch the action from a slight distance, usually with a grin or a smile on his face.

I met Peter two or three times at Hayley concerts, and my memory is of a charmingly eccentric true gentleman. We were also Facebook friends and I always enjoyed reading his thoughts which he posted there - sometimes rather rambling, but at the same time keenly observant and he wasn't afraid to state his opinion. I liked his outlook on life.

Well said John, you like me, had the pleasure of meeting up with Peter I recall the amazing day I had back in July 2009 with members of this site and Peter was a great guy to talk to. Yes, he wasn't afraid to voice his opinion as you mentioned, Looking at his photo's on his Facebook page, Peter enjoyed a rather nice lifestyle looking at the family gatherings that he attended.
RIP Peter it has been without a doubt a real pleasure to have had the privilege to have known you,
God Bless You, My Friend.

Very sad to hear this, Peter was a good friend. I met him quite a few times at varous concert, and I remember on one occasion, when we had a few hours to kill before the concert, embarking on a tour of Bournemouth with him. I no bouby have some pictures of him somewhere - I will have to look them out.
RIP

Yes, Peter was an old school gentleman and although quite eccentric brought fun and joy to our regular meetings. I will never forget a meeting at a Hayley concert in Southend during very strong winds and rain. We saw him struggle along the path towards us fighting with an inside out umbrella which did not want to be there! He reminded me of Mary Poppins meets Worzel Gummidge. A clever man with a heart in the right place. RIP Peter - you will be missed. Martin

Hello everyone
Gordon kindly rang me this afternoon to pass on the sad news that Peter is no longer with us. Eccentric he definitely was but always entertaining and excellent company at the many get together's we've had over the years. I will miss him greatly.
Something Comet said in his post reminded me of an occasion quite early on when, after a concert, we were waiting to meet Hayley and getting excited at the prospect of a few words with her as she signed whatever it was we had for her. Peter was hovering and I asked him if he would like to go in front of me. "No thank you" he said "I'm just happy to be in her presence" Something I also felt as I got to know Hayley better and, like many of HWI did, waited patiently whilst the excited first timers had their special moments with Hayley.
Ahh! Those were the days.
Rest in peace Peter, you will not be forgotten.
God bless
Grant

I had the pleasure of meeting Peter on many occasions over the last decade or two, and as others have suggested, he was the epitome of an English Gentleman, eccentricities and all, and was all the better for it. I was looking forward to meeting him sometime this year too but alas, that is now not to be.
RIP Peter, we miss you.

Farewell, dear friend. Thanks Paddy for the photo of the elusive Peter. I have looked through threads on the forum and folders of photos on my external hard drives going back 13 years and can't find a photo of Peter. He was at the NCH Dublin one year but the batteries in my camera went after about five photos, I remember him sitting on the couch in the foyer of the NCH just smiling as he watched the world go by. I think I remember a photo of him in a train carriage with some other HWI members but I can't locate it, maybe some of our other members know where it is. It doesn't help that many of the photos on the forum have disappeared over the years for a variety of reasons.
