I have a few favorites on America's Got Talent this year, and Emmane is one of them. I like her because her voice resembles Sarah Brightman. Also the fact that she does not choose all the usual little opera girl songs. La Wally is one of my favorite arias that Sarah sings, so I was pleased that she chose this one. It's one that most non-opera fans probably aren't especially familiar with, yet is still a moving, beautiful piece.

Hello Libby, Thank you for this. I have not watched America's Got Talent this year. There have been a few fleeting video clips shared on Facebook. I recall seeing that she is from Jordan, is 10 years old and had won Arabs Got Talent. I will make it a point to watch the above video and others on YouTube. Oh, I wanted to share Emmane's page on Wikipedia... en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emanne_Beasha

I edited my original post because when I listened to it on my phone vs. my computer, she sounded almost perfect. I remember thinking last night when I was playing it on my computer that it didn’t sound as good as I remembered hearing it on TV. So I had said that sometimes her vocals were a bit unsteady due to nerves, but when I played it on my phone, it sounded incredible! So I don’t quite know what happened to it on my computer. 🤔

I had forgotten that she was only 10! Here’s her second performance, and her with her good luck unicorn, too! 😊 🦄 It kind of makes it even more unbelievable how beautifully and maturely she sings when you see that. I know Jackie was 10 as well, but for some reason her youthfulness showed a lot more than Emmane’s does. Actually hers doesn’t really show at all. She is not putting on drama the way Jackie did, she really seems to be moved by her song. It’s also more effortless, and as Simon said, is a natural gift. I’m sure she’s had training, but it isn’t as obvious with her as with others.

If anyone is interested, here are her other performances on the show:
First, her beautiful audition of Nessun Dorma:
This one is the popular ballad Everything I Do sung in Italian (I think), and I found it very lovely:
This was her performance on the finals, a piece I did not recognize, but found out later the title, and which opera it comes from; it's called La Momma Morta, from the 1896 opera, Andrea Chenier.
She did not make it into the top 5; in fact, I don't know what placement she received. But I like her enough that I will probably buy any albums she makes and go to a concert if she ever tours in my area. But with her voice, her future will most probably be in actual opera! Not just classical crossover. Whatever anyone else might say, she's the best young opera girl to ever grace the AGT stage. In fact, I would venture to say she is the best opera singer to come from the show (though there aren't many).

Yes Libby I'm interested and thanks for posting those fantastic videos. You've probably heard about the chaos in this country now and I am in dire need of superb entertainment like this ! There is an increasing trend for contestants on talent shows to appear in other shows worldwide so I'm hoping Emmane shows up on Britain's Got Talent. Certainly the best classical singer I've seen at that age.

Guess who has apparently signed with UMG US/Decca? She’s releasing a Christmas album in 2 days!
