What I'm wondering is how you record them, and can you store them on your account/phone, and post them later? Anyone know? Thanks.

Hey Libby! Yeah, no prob.

So, when you open the app on your phone, there is a bar at the top showing everyone's stories. To post a story, you first click on you profile which has a little blue plus with it (circled in red), or you can swipe right on your screen.



You can also find this icon on your profile page:



From here, you can choose to take a photo or video in the app just as you would with your normal phone camera (through there are a few extra options), tapping the white circle for a picture and holding for a video.

Alternatively, tapping the square (circled in red) will allow you to choose a photo or video from your phone's image library.



After doing this, you get a preview of your story, and are prompted to either post or continue editing.

Once your story has been posted, you can pull up a menu of options by tapping on the small three circles in the lower right corner.



Some of these options include sharing the story as a post, deleting it, or saving it to your device.



And of course, Insta Stories in their nature are exactly like Snapchat - they permanently disappear after 24 hours (though you can obviously choose to re-post them if want).
