The first half is over and the boys were in good form. Hayley sang one duet with them and it was The Prayer. She wore a short orangey no sleeve dress. I took a video so hopefully it turns out well. Stan will appear in the second half and hopefully so will Hayley. I imagine they all will sing one song at the end.

The photo posted by Rebecca is the same as the one from Sol3 Mio's; wait, correction, it IS Sol3 Mio's own post. When you click on it from her page, it comes up as So3 Mio's post. And since FB photos are easier to "extract" than INsta's, here it is:
Christmas in the Vines Concert Sol3 Mio with Hayley Westenra, Rebecca Nelson, Stan Walker and the CSO Orchestra Saturday 17th December 2016 It was a lovely sunny day and so before I went to the concert at Waipara (one hour north of Christchurch) I carried on North on State Highway One towards Cheviot. With the latest earthquake the road to Kaikoura is blocked and so no traffic can go pass Cheviot isolating it from the normal traffic and so affecting the local business. Many people from Christchurch now make a special trip to support them. So I had lunch there. Then I went to Gore Bay for some sightseeing.
Gore Bay Here is one of the locals
Later I went to the Hurunui River mouth
About 4pm I was waiting to get into the Waipara Hills Winery venue for the concert. The gates opened at 4:30pm and I chose my seat near the front of the stage. Rebecca Nelson opened the concert around 6:30pm and she sang for about 30 minutes. Rebecca comes from Christchurch and she was discovered while busking in Auckland by the leader of the NZ Navy band. She is now a reservist of the NZ Navy Band. She sang the NZ anthem at the ANZAC ceremony in Gallipoli in Turkey this year (NZ's most famous WW1 battle). Rebecca sings a lot of musical tunes as well as WW2 songs.
She sang White Cliffs Of Dover, It's Christmas Time, We Will Meet Again and The Lord's Prayer (in Maori).
At 7:30pm the CSO orchestra played 2 songs before the boys from Sol3 Mio came on. They sang a couple of Opera arias and then sang Winter Wonderland and Jingle Bells Rock. And they did a fantastic version of Shenandoah. Then it was time to introduce our lovely Hayley and they sang The Prayer.
Hayley got a great reception and that was it for Hayley in the first half. Some other songs Sol3 Mio sang were Maria and Delilah. The second half opened with the CSO and then Pene (from Sol3 Mio) came on and he conducted the orchestra while Moses sang an aria. They sang Toreador from Carmen. Then it was Stan Walker's turn to sing and they did O Holy Night. After some other arias Hayley came back on and they sang Silent Night acapella.
Then the boys did some favourites like Yellow Bird, Ten Guitars etc. Stan came back on and they did Hellelujah. The boys did their signature tune O Sole Mio and finished with Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas. Encore included Beauty and the Beast before everyone came back on stage to sing Imagine.
and it included the selfie the boys always do at each concert.
And the concert was over. No chance to meet Hayley after the show but it was a really great concert. I will post some videos later after they have been uploaded to YouTube.
