One of the most interesting, honest and revealing interviews about Hayley that I've read. Thanks for locating it and posting it Stephany.
I really don't know if Hayley missed out on some "normalcy" when she was growing up because I'm not certain of what the definition of teenage normalcy is, especially in our current times. But, a friend of mine defines life as "A bunch of occurrences and experiences where knowledge and wisdom are gained". If one accepts this definition, then Hayley's teenage experiences have obviously been traded off for a huge number of "adult" experiences. In my mind, that adds to her character, not diminishes it. I would gladly have given up some of my childhood baseball games and times of mischief, for appearances before the Queen and the President!

Since when is Charlotte Church her "rival"? Can't they for once write about Hayley without mentioning Charlotte? From OK! to this article and countless before, it's getting rather tiresome.
Also, too much is being made of the sacrifices she's willingly made.

Hi everyone I do agree with you to some extent Steve, its about time the comparison with CC was dropped. I guess we all know that , because we all follow Hayley's career and we know such alot about her. Unfortunately, the media don't However, as has been mentioned, perhaps this article will help people understand. Gene, I agree with you on this - Life is always a "trade-off" I believe, what Hayley may have lost through not being a so called "normal" teenager she has gained through her many "worldly" experiences - I dont think Hayley thinks of it in terms of making sacrifices. But then, thats just my opinion Anyway, a very revealing and sincere article Best regards Mark

Since when is Charlotte Church her "rival"? Can't they for once write about Hayley without mentioning Charlotte? From OK! to this article and countless before, it's getting rather tiresome. Also, too much is being made of the sacrifices she's willingly made. Hi Steve, They both started young. They are both sopranos, and there is still considerable overlap in their repertoire. This, in and of itself is enough to encourage the comparison. Additionally, as it happened, Hayley was showing demure innocense at precisely the same time that Charlotte was perceived to be rebelling. The press loves dichotomy - simple stark contrasts which can be explained simply - in my opinion the media created a kind of good-girl/bad girl dichotomy between them which could take some time to fade. It is easy to suggest that a sacrifice is no big deal when we are not the one making it. While I agree with you to an extent that it is probably no big deal, I do believe that there is something cautionary there. Most of us reach our 20's with a set of experiences we may take for granted - but which served to prepare us for whatever issues or challanges we had to face as adults later in life. Hayley actually does seem to have uncommon good sense by nature - and for this reason any loss may be less important in her case. It is still a loss though - and I sympathize with her. She may have willingly made those decisions - but she was still very young when she made them. There are potential issues in making any set of life changing decisions at that age, which might not manifest for several years. Having said all of this, I am quite impressed by this interview as well Jon

Wow, great read, i hope hayley finds a great man to treat her as the princess she truely is. I really hope she doesnt get used and abused, but life is hard in that respect, you have to know true pain, before you know true love, i just wish her all the best

Hi Stephany and Tony, Is there a way to let the Reporter know what a great job he did ?? Would that be appropriate ?? Love, Marianne Hi Marianne Actually the reporter was female "Jennifer (Jenny) Johnstone. The article in the paper was exacty the same as the online version. A lot of reporters in The Daily Mail give an e-mail address for comments but she does not. I have sent comments before to other reporters but never even received an ackowledgement or "auto reply". You could try j.johnstone@dailymail.co.uk or write c/o The Daily Mail. regards Tony
