WOW! I'm excited. I have just heard that as part of Leicester City Football Club's celebrations after winning the English Premier League, Andrea Bocelli will be singing before their next match this Saturday, 7th May (against Everton). And being a City season ticket holder, I have a seat. Can't wait!

You are right to be excited Martin, this is terrific news, nearly as good as 'little' Leicester living the dream by winning the Premier League title... for those who don't know, only a year after nearly being relegated to the league below. This is the ultimate underdog story and even fans of the usual four winning teams seem delighted by it (me being one)! As for Andrea Bocelli, I couldn't quite believe it when I heard - that Andrea was the one who contacted Leicester manager, fellow Italian Claudio Rannieri to ask if he could do it, in the middle of his World tour! We know that he will sing Nessun Dorma but not only that, and he says he's learning the latest Leicester fans' chant of Dilly Ding, Dilly Dong - something Rannieri first uttered in his excitement, a couple of weeks ago. I don't know how much if any of Andrea's perfomance TV will show (they don't usually broadcast any music uninterrupted except Anthems) but it's a match I will definitely be watching! And the best bit so far is an interview Andrea has done with BBC Radio Five Live... here it is! www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p03t6xp8If anyone outside UK cannot listen but wants to hear it, let me know, I will upload it. Cheers, Dave

Oh yes Dave, tomorrow will be a great day I'm sure.
I gathered Andrea will also sing "Time to Say Goodbye", according to one report with modified words that have something to do with Leicester winning.
As for "Dilly-ding, Dilly-dong", Jamie Vardy (Leicester and England striker with 22 goals so far this season) revealed in an interview a few weeks ago that this is what Ranieri says when he thinks his players aren't paying attention to what he is saying to them. It is certainly worth trying to record it if you get the chance. I might try to record it from the crowd, but with the volume of noise that is usual at the King Power these days, I don't know how well that will work. You are likely to be able to hear it better on TV I would think.

Hello Dave and Martin D, First of all, congrats to Leicester City for a brilliant season! I had thought Saturday's match was the cup final but LCFC have so many points that they cannot be topped! Dave, kindly work your magic and and upload what you can...I wonder if a Bocelli- Ranieri duet is in realm of possibility! The match will be televised live at 12:30pm in the US on the USA Network, which is owned by NBC, who probably would be airing the match themselves if wasn't Kentucky Derby day. One thinks of the young kids who follow the matches, wear the kit, etc. Not just in Leicestershire, but anywhere really...who may aspire getting into sport...and seeing the hard work and training really pay off.

Until quite recently Leicester City has a New Zealander playing for them, Chris Wood who is a striker.
It is amazing just how many different nationalities are represented among Leicester's players, and the same goes for most other Premier League teams. We have players from Europe, Africa, Asia and South America. Or squad includes the captains of both the Swiss and Austrian international teams. And of course we have the Professional Footballers Association and Football Writers Association players of the year.
We have played and beaten a number of teams that have individual players who cost more than our entire team. Some teams had players on the substitutes bench that cost more than our team. A large part of Leicester's popularity stems from being the underdog, and it is so refreshing to see that it isn't always the club with the most money that wins.

Excellent! Sky Sports played all of Andrea's two songs in full without interruption, kudos to them for that! He was out on a flower festooned stage in the centre of the pitch, side by side with compatriot and Leicester manager Claudio Rannieri - revealing a Leicester city football shirt during Nessun Dorma. Needless to say, the fans loved it! He then sang Time To Say Goodbye with slightly modified words, it's party party time there as the Champions trophy is about to be presented!
If his performance isn't uploaded elsewhere this evening (I'm sure it will be), I will do that later this evening.
Cheers, Dave

Well, I have some recordings. Not had time to look at them yet. But it is likely that the TV ones will be better. I also have recordings of the presentation of the trophy. The match itself was a comfortable 3-1 win for Leicester. It was just wonderful to be there. My late wife Sue, a lifelong Leicester City performer, and one time player for their ladies team, would have loved it. The family will be releasing balloons in her memory tomorrow at the King Power Stadium, we even have one for our little granddaughter Suzie, 18 months old who Sue never met.

A Leicester Fiesta ! Congrats to all. It was interesting to hear manager Claudio Ranieri after the match saying he hopes he can keep his players for another year. I think he will since they're now in the Champions League so we'll see how they do against the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid who will probably try to buy Jamie Vardy amongst other players. The guy who owns Chelsea will also probably be getting his chequebook out. (He usually does !) I think the Leicester team will look rather different come the 2017-18 season !

The point is that Leicester don't need the money from selling players any more. Vardy at least has said he wants to stay. Why go elsewhere to sit on the subs bench. As long as he is happy to stay at Leicester, he won't be sold and that goes for the rest of the players too. Martin D
