The "fifth" Beatle, record producer George Martin has died aged 90. He signed the Beatles to his record label in 1962 after other major labels had rejected them and there is no doubt that George steered the Beatles to become the mega success of the sixties and beyond.
RIP George.

Indeed he did Richard. In fact together with his son he wrote "Beat of your heart" for Hayley.

My brother has an album of orchestral music by George Martin that includes tunes that I recognised including "Beat of Your Heart". On that album it had a completely different title though (which I can't remember off the top of my head).
RIP Sir George.

Yes, Channel 4 news described him as "the best record producer ever". Sir George Martin's classical training meant he was able to bring an orchestral element into pop. He was literally "instrumental" in putting a string quartet on "Yesterday" (which Paul McCartney was initially dubious about) as well as strings on "Eleanor Rigby" and his input on "Pure" for me made it the best debut album ever. Of Hayley's other albums only "Paradiso" comes close.

Yes it was sad news indeed when I heard of this yesterday. Sir George was able to set up his own recording studios towards the end of his Beatles producing days, he was in great demand, and they have become one of the World's most famous recording and production studios - Air Studios now in Hampstead, London. Hayley is listed here, as one of their former clients. RIP Sir George, your productions arrangements and collaborations have given countless hours of pleasure to me and many others across the World.
